  • Remy - Arsenal or Spurs?

New Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants the French World Cup star to lead his attack and is ready to trigger the release clause in his QPR contract

  • #2
I think this is a load of rubbish. No release clause has been confirmed and if there is a release clause why is there talk that Arsenal have offered 10 million.

Wenger was at the Columbia-Uruguay game today and is apparently interested in James Rodriguez (according to ESPN in the US). Don't think he will pay the price take though which is apparently 45 million Euros.

"which is apparently 45 million Euros"

That is what Monaco paid Porto. After the world cup that lad has had, i think we can all agree, you could easily double it.
"I could think of a number of what I think would be interesting (and not even "gotcha") questions. But they wont be asked"

Arsenal are crying out for another striker and for £8m he is a steal. Is his wage demands a stumbling block?

Could be his reputation, but i think its just taking time cos of manager and player at the world cup. alan brazil said on talksport the other day he has heard its done to the gooners for eight mill though.

If we can get Sigurdsson as part of the deal, I would rather he went tk Spurs.

Harry Redknapp was quoting saying that he "thinks" Remy has a release clause that "isn't too much more than we paid for him". Whether this is the truth or not or whether he had a different agenda when he said it, you never really know with Harry. This for sure is the reason that so many journalists are touting around a figure of 8-10m though!

We bagged £2m off Newcastle for last season, so anything over £6m is a bonus.

Arsenal will wait until the last minute as they always do, which will have a negative effect on our dealings. Sell him to Spurs early and give ourselves time to go get players in with the sale proceeds.

Wenger is at the World Cup and although he is doing some reporting for French tv, he also looking out for players (Rodriguez was one of the players mentioned). Assume he will wait till he gets back to the UK, evaluate what he has seen and then make a decision. Get the impression the Remy is only on his list because he thinks he is going cheap and that there are really other strikers he would prefer.

Loic Remy went on loan to Newcastle because he did not want to play in the Championship and more importantly he wanted to be on show so that he would be picked for the French world cup team. He apparently feigned an injury for the last game of the season at Newcastle so that he would be ready for the world cup.

We was picked for the 25, but despite France's injury problems, has only been a sub and has come on for about 10 minutes.

Assume nothing changes and he doesn't play much in their remaining matches how do you think this could impact on how he plays next season (wherever he finishes up playing)?

His worth will be judged on a season in the Prem, not 10 minutes in the world cup
