Would of got destroyed! The way we are as a nation at football I think even USA & Algeria would school us at the moment. With Honduras & south korea by far the worst team at the competition.

I think we all need to calm down a little and England are nowhere near as bad as some suggest. Uruguay are a very poor team. Without suarez they are beyond useless. Italy should be playing in this game, completely outplayed Uruguay and they were fair superior. Getting a sending off and bad luck was harsh on them so my point is not always the best teams in the groups qualify
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

depressing to think an average Uruguay team dispatched us with relative ease

Totally agree, what I don't get is pundits and press saying we suffered because of too many foreign players, lack of academies, poor coaching at youth level blah blah blah...if this is true then how did chile nearly take Brazil out with a largely championship back three plus not one pundit has openly said specific England players aren't good enough.
If the position is the premiership has too many foreign players then clearly quality English players aren't getting through and therefore we are left with technically poor players turning up in brazil wearing the 3 lions. Who specifically must be dropped, everyone's waiting for Gerard to make his position on international football be known why don't pundits just say don't bother, or get rid of Rooney, Welbeck, strurridge etc and our defence is hopeless we need better players.
At the end of the day we all shake our heads and blame everything else but come the premiership these same players will be applauded by the pundits that were sitting in rio saying how poor England are...no wonder euros and WCs are just groundhog days for us.

Mario Yepes, Colombia and Atalanta, showed me that age is just a number. What a player the 38 year old captain is. A giant in every sense of the word.

Well said WeAre, both the matches we lost were close and could have just as easily gone our way. We were just a bit naive defensively and that cost us in the end. Going forward, I thought we looked pretty decent.

If Suarez hadn't played we would possibly have beaten Uruguay and would have been playing Columbia this afternoon.
