IMO Ferdinand has played more in the last 2 years than Rodwell, we also have more cover at CB if he does get injured thanwe have in M/F (IMO we are short as Henry and SWP are v.weak).
Also if you gong to take a gamble on a injury prone player you only chose 1 (unlike Hughes who got Zamora and AJ) and to be fair i would prefer it to be free and not £10m.
Rodwell v good player but has played something like 80 games n 7 years scored 4 / 5 goals, now we signed Mutch for around 5m who scored 7 last season alone i for one can not complain, thnk we dong ok on the transfers so farOne for all.... and all for one

Great player but 7-10m for a player that may well only play in half the games in any given season is too much for a club like us under FFP.

Amazing revelations by Darren Campbell, the former sprinter the other day who was Rodwell's fitness coach at the time of his move to City. Essentially said that his brief was to get him fit enough to get through the medical to ensure the move went smoothly. Job done but after that Campbell was unable to take the player forward in terms of long term fitness. His opinion was that the number of games played will never increase and the lad's fitness will prevent him from ever performing consistently to the level of his talent.
I can't find the interview anywhere and can't even recall where I heard it but I certainly did hear it - so to anyone who thought it would have been a good signing due to his age, and for circa £7 -to £10M let me just say we seem to have had a lucky escape - or as is more likely were never interested in the first place, thank goodness#standuptocancer
