The guy struggled to get in Rotherham's starting 11 when they were in the first division and only made one sub appearance for us last season. Obviously there is something wrong somewhere. No point keeping him if there is things not right somewhere. Supporters don't see him day in day out in training.

what is shocking is that our youth set up is failing massively to produce first team players. if the youth players aren't good enough, what needs to be changed?

As much as I am unhappy with the decision to let him go, it's plain Harry doesn't rate him.

I still kind of get the feeling his last minute substitute appearance for us was made for the owner's benefit (fairly standard 'Arry tactic 'down to the bare bones, untried youth player on the bench today) and his popping up and scoring threw a spanner in the works.

If he isn't going to get a chance here, he's best off going somewhere else to get it. Good luck to the lad, I'll be looking out for him next season wherever he ends up.

He's over 21 and out of contract. And did OK in League 1 last season. We need Premiership quality, even in reserve.

Would you use up 1 of the 25 man squad on him ? Or give it to Zamora ?
Possibly one of them if we were planning 5 strikers, but not if only 4 (IMO)

Likewise Harriman, Doughty & Ehmer - All over 21
(although they have contracts beyond next month - 2015, 2016 & 2016 respectively)
Will they be considered in the 25 man squad ?
                      Harriman maybe, Doughty won't.
Ehmer or Hill ? Again if there's only 1 spare space.

His dad is happily on the coaching staff. If that doesn't get him a contract, he really mustn't be good enough.

I not sure he can be classed as a product of our youth set up.
He's 22 in October and has been at QPR for 2 years at most. I'd suggest he's more a product of Blackburn's youth set up.

Although I do get your point. Harriman, Ehmer, Andrade have all failed to break into the 1st team.
Perrett, Sterling & maybe Petrasso are probably the only successes last few years.

THAT and the fact his contract probably doesn't run out until next Tuesday, is likely why it hasn't been announced officially.
