Player/coach. Backup CB to cover for injuries. He wont be first choice. He's been given another contract because they can appreciate his overall value and influence to the club in the long-term, and it would be folly to just discard him.

Loyalty works both ways and it's good we have shown that we look after players who have given us great service

I also hope we offer Faurlin a new deal as well , need to keep players around who have an affection for the club

Geared towards coaching. Fantastic signing on what he brings alone to the squad away from games.

good bloke, great servant to us, good attitude, the right type, potential future coach / manager, bla bla bla

1 simple question to all of you out there - is there any other PL club that would have him in their squad now?

if we're honest the answer has to be no

There will be games where Clints involvement will be crucial next season for me.

Maybe Leicester and Burnley as a squad player but that isn't really the point

Yeah, and there could be games where his lack of ability results in us conceeding goals and losing points.....

You are not placing enough emphasis on attitude Del. It counts for a lot, both on and off the pitch. We finally seem to have got our dressing room together and Clint seems to be a key part of that. Let's not make the same mistakes we made last time.

Well worth the yr contract and club captain for me.

Spot on for instance play him in the cups and protect the first choice players also if our backs are against the wall and were one nil up with 10mins to play what a man to bring on for the end to throw himself in front of the ball and put his head on the end of things

He wont play 38 games but im sure when he is needed he wont let us down

In our last PL 25man squad in January 2013 we had named such wonderful players as: Samba Diakite, Tal Ben Haim, Jose Bosw anker, Stephane Mbia, Ji Sung Park, jay Bothroyd and DJ Campbell.....

....And people are saying Clint Hill isn't worth a spot in our squad this season. Madness
