Offer made for Caulker

I'd like to see us move on from Caulker. He's good but not that good.

He clearly thinks he can do better than us.

We could do better than him.

I agree - onwards and upwards - move on to the next target. We have time. Caulker clearly doesn't want to sign as he would have done so by now

Agreed, he's good, but think a few are getting caught up in it all because he's fairly young and English IMO

I think with caulker we all just have to put it to the back of our minds a bit. We have put a offer in and he's obviously taking his time to decide his long term future. This doesnt make him greedy or mean he's messing us around it just means he's thinking it over and also exploring other avenues.
As long as we as a club have sat down with him offered him terms and said look we respect you need some time so you got two weeks to give us a answer either way. I think thats more than fair considering the fact hes a quality player.

Lascalles has had one season in the Championship and according to the Forest fan was not always even first choice. Am sure he has bags of potential but can we afford our centre half in the Premier League to be that green? Also we seem set on Ferdinand so it makes sense to have a younger player alongside him - Caulker is young but has a full Prem season under his belt. Other centre backs we have been linked with (Dawson, Lescott, Hangerlaand) are all the wrong side of 30. It seems pretty clear that Harry doesn't want Onouha or Hill as first choice, so if not Caulker, then who?

IMO I think he does want Nedum but wants a couple of other decent defenders (Dunne and Hill may play the equivalent of 1 season between them)

I think dawson could be high on the list after caulker - but id like yourself we dont really want two cb wrongside of 30 or nearing it. Thing is who else unless we go foreign or spend big is a realistic target. Sometimes you have to take a punt and maybe lascelles could surprise us. I think id prefer him to dawson tbf.

Hi mate nothing Harry has said more a question of numbers: Harry is clearly in the market for two centre backs, Caulker and Ferdinand clearly aren't being signed to sit in the reserves. Caulker didn't miss a game last season I think and Ferdinand might realistically play a little over half the games. So that leaves about 25 games to be divided by Nedhum, Dunne and Hill I'm guess.

Hi mate nothing Harry has said more a question of numbers: Harry is clearly in the market for two centre backs, Caulker and Ferdinand clearly aren't being signed to sit in the reserves. Caulker didn't miss a game last season I think and Ferdinand might realistically play a little over half the games. So that leaves about 25 games to be divided by Nedhum, Dunne and Hill I'm guess.

point taken, but when you allow for injuries and suspensions, we're going to need 4 or 5 players, especially with 3 of them, well on the way to a bus pass!

What I can tell you is he spoke to Everton some time ago and they wouldn't match his demands, so unless a massive change in their stance, which is unlikely to happen, he won't go there. Liverpool had a passing interest but have set their target as Lovens from Southampton. We meet the asking price and he was happy with our offer, I have been told it's all agreed and will be announced soon, probably along with Ferdinand, although that came from someone who whilst they have no reason to lie havn't told me stuff before. My trusted source did confirm the agreement and that it would be completed but with no time frame, which either means they are waiting to confirm both Ferdinand and Caulker together or other clubs (Palace) are trying to sneak in. Still think it likely he will come to us but you never know for sure until he's signed the paperwork and I don't have that knowledge, I do however know that the bid for Lascelles is additional to Caulker and not a back up. The back up being Dawson.
