  • Players Rangers have signed in the Twilight of their Careers who were a success

From my memory Rangers have always signed players who were more senior and given them a second wind and not all of them have been unsuccessful

So off the top of my head players we got who were aging and who done us a job were:

    Dave Webb
    Frank McClintock
    Steve Palmer
    Clint Hill
    Ryan Nelson
    Ray Wilkins
    Jon Hollins
    Shaun Derry
    Peter Reid
    Tony Currie

    Obvious exception was Mark Hateley

London Pride means our own dear town to us,
And our pride it for ever will be.

Was just about to put him down Hits but was in two minds if he had been a success or if his treatment of mad dog would have ruined his rep

                          @Westie

Your list, plus others, spans 40 years. What's that, one every three seasons? I'm surprised you're resorting to such tactics to justify signing Ferdinand. I expected much better from you.

How many of those played in the premier league era, where the game has changed so much in your 40-year time frame?

You also forgot such gems as Dyer AJ and BZ, and your example of Hateley shows that signing old crocks isn't always successful.

Realistically, you cannot build a successful premier league team full of 35 year olds. Even you know that

Amended - other names have been added, but again, how many played for us at the top level, particularly in the modern prem era?

Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Wilkins and Trevor Francis are prob the only really relevant comparisons - didn't they carry on for us until about 37. Currie, for instance, was 31 when he signed for us.
