Its inevitable that people will jump to this conclusion. But does that make what he actually said incorrect? Whether he is bitter or not, would he really come out with something so controversial if he wasn't speaking from direct personal experience?

He might be right by why did he not say anything at the time???!!!...If he weren't gonna say anything at the time, then he should have just kept his mouth shut permanently. This is just about Harry being bitter about not getting that England job.

Probably the best post on this subject so far.
Problem he'll potentially have now is he'll be under pressure to name names, and if he were to do that there'd be lawsuits and court cases galore and possibly more dirt on Redknapp to come out.You can't come out with statements like he has without backing it up.He has well and truly ripped open those can of worms.

Because he wasn't asked the question at the time?

Again, maybe its bitterness, maybe its not but does that make the statements any less true. And maybe he's also saying it out of a real disappointment over our WC results and performances.

Why's that? I don't think he's under any obligation whatsoever to do that. He's said what he's said and he's drawn the line at revealing names. Nothing wrong with that at all IMO. In fact I think it's good that he's come out with this because the cat needed letting out of the bag for the long-term good of the national team.

He isn't under obligation to do so, but you can't come out and make accusations like he has, without backing it up.
Plus why were these players so comfortable with asking "patriotic" Redknapp to "help them miss England games", and did he actually oblige and help them......

                Again, why not?

No one has said they were 'comfortable' with it. Plus Redknapp said that he tried to persuade them against it.

Not saying it's incorrect Stanley......I think at best this would be an 'engaging mouth before brain' scenario ..or a calculated dig at 'team England'.....

Do you think he needed to say anything now?

Because it will be put down as sour grapes...a load of old rubbish...the current England captain is now asking him to name names...it puts ALL the spurs players in an uncomfortable position when called up to an England squad.

You'd have to be pretty sure he'd help u out before asking a favour like that

I think everyone believes him. Just whether it was necessary or out of anything other than self interest that Redknapp has raised it at this moment.

You could put forward the argument that now is the perfect time to say it - right at the point when England are knocked out of the WC, because now is when the rebuilding process begins. It's also better said now during the off-season.

I respectfully disagree with that view.

I'm not so sure about that. As Andy Cole says, these days many of the super-rich PL players simply don't care enough to put up with all the grief and aggravation that goes with playing for England. They have more than enough money for the rest of their lives and so they develop other priorities, like putting family and paymasters first for e.g.

Graham Taylor and John Hartson coming out with the same thing now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27975727

His motives don't bother me, to be honest.
The stinking attitude of some English players, on the other hand, does.

HR is answering a question in an interview - not surprisingly the clip only has his answer and not the question so we cannot know exactly how the question was worded. Still, I don't see how his response has anything to do with being bitter about not getting the job. It is merely answering a question that was asked, he hasn't exactly gone on a rant about England and is really just digging out players that can't be bothered. No secrets and no digs at the FA really. Just a bit of a soundbite about something that's hardly a secret now is it?
