Sorry,I can't find a link so I'll repeat the Alan Nixon article from today's Sunday People.
"Harry Redknapp is in a transfer war with his own bosses at QPR.The boss of the Premier League new boys wants to bring in big and older names on top salaries, but Tony Fernandes and his scouting team prefer emerging talents.
Redknapp hopes to land the likes of Rio Ferdinand and possibly Ashley Cole if he can,but that would cost a lot of money in salaries with no resale value.Fernandes and his sidekicks have been working on other possible captures, with the emphasis on players they can develop. The lack of progress on the signing front is down to this difference of opinion.
Owner Ferandes pumped millions into the club - backing Redknapp heavily when he tried to keep Rangers up last time.Rangers do not want to run up more debt and would rather sign players who have a resale value if they go down.
Meanwhile,Bobby Zamora has been released by QPR despite scoring the goal which took them into the Premier League, and his old pal Andrew Johnson is also on the lookout for a new club after being told his services are no longer required at Loftus Road".
