from what can be picked up on twitter, the club has only managed to set its budgets in the last week or so:
Philip Beard @philipb1 · Jun 16
Meant to be home by 5pm #GERvsPOR but in budget meeting. Now have to wait until end of game. At least it was Premier League budget! #QPR
and there was some meeting to discuss the way forward on friday:
Tony Fernandes @tonyfernandes · Jun 20
Talking the future. Good day.

all in all, this seems a reasonable explanation for the lack of signings so far. maybe there is some truth in this story. if i was tf, i would be concerned about the lack of resale value in a lot of the signings we've made under all three managers he's had.
think about it... we allegedly paid £3.5m for anton ferdinand, who managed 3 appearances in the turkish league last season and has now signed for police united in thailand, £4m for djibril cisse who we had to pay off to leave, £8m for estaban granero, who allegedly wants us to rip up his contract and let him go off to play in la liga etc etc etc

The pic above is at the very least is somewhat encouraging - I highly doubt these sort of meetings where taking place in the Leslie Hughes days. I think we all know that Arry will bring in a few on TDD, if only because he can't help himself. With that in mind, I think 2-3 players between now and opening day is the way forward, focusing on the spine of the team....ST, CM and CB to start, and take it from there.

'Arry himself has said he is looking to sign players he has worked with before and knows. Whilst obviously I wouldn't expect all our signings to fit in with that if a good number do we could end up with a disproportionate number of 'oldies' and players that maybe haven't been performing for other clubs hence their availability. I'm not totally opposed to a couple of veterans but am hoping we will get some younger players so we can build for the future rather than just next season.
Whilst TF shouldn't have any serious input into individual players I concur with others that he is perfectly within his rights in setting general parameters.

The big question, regardless of how we get there, is to steady the defense (Ferdinand, et al), solidify the midfield, and power the front line with a teammate for Charlie. Not a stretch to suggest Harry is looking short term (he's nearing the end of his coaching career) while the owners are looking down the road with recent history their guide. Bottom line: QPR will recruit a blend of Harry favorites and young blood, hope to place mid-table this season, then build again next year. For the financial stability of the club, and the emotional security of its fans, it makes for a decent plan IMO.
