  • Barton's talking p00 again!

Just read that Barton thinks Rooney should be the England captain....

Great player for us but wow does he come out with some rubbish... Rooney shouldn't be the mascot let alone the focking captain.
    SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

Would make him skipper too. Rooney is to England what BZ/Helguson/Ramage were to QPR, SCAPEGOATS

Not a chance. He's finally being seen for what he really is when playing for England and that is nothing special. And he definitely doesn't deserve this sort of super star treatment he gets as if he's actually achieved anything with England.

What superstar treatment? He ain't a left winger, pure and simple

              Agree with Barton.

The undue stick Rooney gets is a joke. We seem to expect to him to some kind of superstar that single handedly wins us every game, despite being played out on the wing? He's 9 goals away form becoming our top ever scorer, why you wouldn't play him up front is beyond me.

Was in me local for the Uruguay game & everytime he his first touch took the ball half yard away from him, he was slated by people, yet when Gerrard or Sturridge made a proper fark up nobody said a word. Proper scapegoat.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Nothing special when playing for England....... As opposed to all the other players who performed so well foe England to be classed as something special.....????

All this crap about Rooney hadn't scored at a WC was pathetic anyway. It conveniently ignores the fact we were shite in both tournaments and created hardly any chances for him. Also in 2006 Lampard shot every time he had the ball rather than create for the front men.... Remember he had more shots than anyone that WC and scored none.

Then lets not forget of more relevance Rooney was injured just before both tournaments, one with a broken foot.

Against Italy Hodgeson stupidly played him on the wing more for a defensive job to play Sterling, a winger(!!!!), in Rooney's favourite position..... Genius.

Against Uraguay he was our best player.

He should be made captain as expect Gerrard to retire now and there are no other viable options. Half the side are new and about 12 and the older of the rest are less experienced for England and shite, namely the defence.

Oh and he'll be our record scorer very soon and yet continues to get stick from stupidly expectant fans during tournaments. Anyone who actually thinks we'd do better without him is naive.

If Gerrard couldn't make a tackle would he constantly be in the team and made captain NO, if Beckham couldn't make a pass / cross would he have constantly been in the team and made captain NO, if Sheare couldn't score goals would he have constantly been in the team and made captain NO. If you can't play your position you get dropped not made focking captain!!

As for playing out of position please don't start bringing that into it, it was for one game and that one game where mighty Rooney set up the goal from playing on the wing, Wellbeck played his best game for England, and a game where we played our best football for years. So I wouldn't exactly say Hodgeson was stupid in doing that.

And I'm sure he'll be our record scorer very soon I just wish these goals would actually be scored in games that matter and against 'proper' teams!
