wernt people saying this about park a couple of years ago? look what happened there.

we have plenty of prem experience, hill, dunne, simpson, barton, ned, krankjar,

what we need is legs, fittness, youth, hunger, desire, and players who can recover quick from injury. NOT old cart horses who have nothing left to prove and are after one last farking payday.

cant believe some of the dross on this thread. "sign him up, he talks a good game on the tv" why not sign alan farking hanson and be done with it then.
Hill & Dunne in the premier league would be an absolute disaster.

Any team that starts with Clint Hill as CB will get relegated & I love the guy but he is not a PL player.

Forget talking a good game that's muggy Rio is still a ****** good player.

Whilst you can quote Park you could also look at both the Nelson and Hill signings, both came at a similar point as Ferdinand is in his career (albeit Ferdinand is several leagues better) and both turned out to be the best players in our squad. Both CB's where your reading of the game is very important and certainly more so than in other areas, also both have that English type character, albeit Nelson was from NZ. Will turn out to be an excellent signing not only for what he brings to the pitch but what he installs in the squad.

        Couldn't agree more.

For me this had nothing to do with age, what he's won, pay days etc it's what he is as a man & has always been. A winner & has a top attitude. As I mentioned earlier have you ever thought of Rio of being a lazy player, a shirker, a player with a bad attitude? Never in a million for me. Has all the attributes to help us consolidate our position in the PL next season. British attitude.

Shania, Google Rio Ferdinand back injury. This has been going on for years.

It's not his ability that I question, it's his capability to make it through a prem season that I doubt. I think he's a liability for any club because of it.

To the list of BZ AJ Park and Dyer, you could add Ferdinand if he signs. The risk is too high IMO, especially with 34 and 35 year olds currently taking up two CB slots.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Come on comparing him with Aj and dyer is plain stupid. He played 28 games season before last and won premiership. Aj and dyer been injury hit for years. Exactly what we need in prem experience, top player, leader in dressing room, still passionate about the game, 100% professional. Alot on here ruined Nelson before he pulled the hoop shirt on and had to eat humble pie. STOP moaning and back the club

Didn't Joey say QPR cannot be a club where good footballers come to die? I happen yo agree with him.

As for his appearance record, last season he was involved in 23 matches, a mere 14 in the prem. With the 28 you quoted along with the 14 I've quoted, he's averaged 21 prem games in the last two seasons. This means he's missed 34 games in two seasons, almost a whole season out of the last two. How do you explain this? He fitness is unlikely to improve as he approaches 36.

This is why I don't think Rio Ferdinand should be signed by QPR.

Yea and David Moyes was the manager last season. Work it out.

Pretty simple really moyes didn't fancy him and went for vidic with a youngster and that went well. Sure was left out a few times when fit. Not saying he will play every game but just to have him in around the squad will be a benefit IMO. Barton words were not directed for players like Ferdinand either IMO. More for players like hangleland joe cole etc. players like Ferdinand lamps and cough cough ash cole etc are winners

He'll have to pass a medical chaps and as long as we don't pay him ridiculous money I'd give him a go. Would've thought he has the right attitude and won't mess 'arry around

Dunne before signing for us had been out for the best part of 12months!! never stopped him playing more or less the whole season once given a chance to get his fitness

It would appear Rich you do not want Rio because of his age and his age alone and your attempting to use his back etc as an excuse

On that basis we should not be offering Faurlin a deal as he has been out for two seasons of the last three and is 10 years younger then Rio so if Rio is not worth a deal, and is considered injury, prone neither is Faurlin (if you take the sentiment out of it)
