You think like Jimmy I was going be greedy and say the same. Nedhum, Chaulker, Rio and one of Hill/Dunne at CB would see us pretty well covered in that area

Ah but we don't my friend. Some are still obsessed with the idea we must sign an old, crocked has-been because he's a jolly good TV pundit.

My question was trying to demonstrate that there's other, more suitable alternatives
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

There is of doubt Caulker would be a very good signing and whilst Everton remain favorites we are still very much in with a shout. Whatever happens with Caulker you all better get used to Ferdinand wearing the hoops as unless there is a last minute very major problem it's going to happen and may even be announced in the very near future.

Good signing in my opinion, certainly doesn't need the money and contrary to belief he does have something to prove if he comes to us as he is the sort of character who will want to show he can make a success when playing for someone other than a top four side. Also need to remember he was selected for all United's most important games last year and is still a quality defender that others can learn a lot from.

Good post mate and we should not underestimate the value of the bit in bold.

Rio would be an unbelievable signing for us this season.

Please can people get this age thing out of their heads for ALL transfers.

It's not realistic or sometimes even possible to sign players to fit your ideal of young, hungry, sell on value etc etc believe it or not you do need to mix experience with youth & the most important fact of all for me is Rio is British & I've never ever as a football fan had a reason to doubt his commitment. Almost every big signing Mark Hughes made were foreign & for me not the right attitude. Harry is no fool, he needs to be judged in the PL where he got Spurs into the Champions League twice, no mean feat.

Rio is still a big player & you're telling me you'd of rather had Phil f##king Jagielka playing in the World Cup or Rio Ferdinand. No brainier for me. Everyone knows why he didn't feature as much last season for Man Utd, because Moyes didn't fancy him. That turned out well for him.

Rio is moving back to London so this is on the cards let's be sensible about this & not have a meltdown over age. Trust the manager to do what he does best in a league he knows best, Harry is not a championship manager & everyone knows it was a case of whatever it takes to get us up.

We won't have numerous aged signings I'm pretty sure that's been accepted but if we get this one we should be very grateful. Still has a lot to offer.

Some decent comments tbf. I'm in the camp that think it's a bad move as it sets us up in the same manner as we went about our transfers last time in the PL, but I am obviously not guna get on his back from the off at all and he may well prove a great signing (if it happens of course). Fingers crossed!
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I know what you're saying fella but I'd trust a Redknapp signing over a Mark Hughes signing any day of the week. Think this could be a very shrewd move for us.

Great post jimmy....this is Harry's league. Think the posters need to remember who our poty was in the prem last time, age in this day and age is far less relevant as most players look after themselves properly.

played in all united's important matches,
                              top player,
                              good signing,
others can learn alot from him,

wernt people saying this about park a couple of years ago? look what happened there.

we have plenty of prem experience, hill, dunne, simpson, barton, ned, krankjar,

what we need is legs, fittness, youth, hunger, desire, and players who can recover quick from injury. NOT old cart horses who have nothing left to prove and are after one last farking payday.

cant believe some of the dross on this thread. "sign him up, he talks a good game on the tv" why not sign alan farking hanson and be done with it then.

Everyone slated Warnock for signing Derry & Hill yet they'll go down as two of our greatest players of modern times. People are only angry & rightly so because of Hughesless's f#ck up signings. I hope people can open their minds a little bit & don't be so closed. Judge Harry in May 2015 not July 1st 2014!
