The fact is i do get it, thanks, and know you clearly like to think you know everything to do with the club, which you clearly don't. Perhaps you should get over yourself......
Have a look at the accounts and it will show you we shouldn't be just paying players stupid wagesWe Are The People.....

Add to that the fact the owners have been stung previously and have said they won't be stupid again. There will be certain players who will command a higher wage and they will decide if they feel he'd be worth it or not, but what they wont do is throw silly wages to all signings.

I personally believe in wage caps in football which would have to be agreed by all clubs in Europe. For example, no top division club can pay any player above 50k a week. The players have far too much power these days.

Quite simple in my book.
1) We need defenders badly
2) A defender of Rio's quality would cost £5million upwards, fee wise before any wages, signing fee etc
3) if and I'm not saying we have, but if we offered him £100,000 a week that would still only equate to £5.2million so IMO it's a no brainer. Yeah we could go out and spend that money on younger talent but who's to say they will cut it in the Premiership. Players of his pedigree don't come up too often in this type of situation, and if it works for both parties then ill do my bit as a supporter.
As already mentioned, the club have been stung before so I'm pretty sure they will cover themselves better this time around. I also don't see anyone on our board's wealth shrinking, so I'm pretty sure they know what they are doing in terms of finances.

always bemused by our fans worrying about the owners finances - don't think they're worried about ours!
that said, there are going to be players sold for sure, most of whom we'll make a profit on, so the owners will be better off - Adel, Remy, Cesar, etc. We got our money back on Samba (amazingly) so when all these transactions have taken place, I don't think there will be much loss, if any, on transfer fees (not that the owners wealth is my business or concern)
On reflection, Clint signing for another year is good news, hope he doesn't play too much and hope he's not out of his depth when he does.
If we sign Rio, i have no doubt he be a great asset to us, on and off the pitch and hope his appearances are selective to allow him to recover in between and perform well when he plays
anyone comparing signing Rio to that of Park or Boswinga is way, way off the mark - totally different attitude and far better player and respects and likes Harry

It does make me laugh that so many people have said how great it is that Clint's got a 1yr playing contract extension and follow it up b saying but I hope he doesn't play much...... I think that says all you need to know really. He isn't good enough for the prem and will be way out of his depth and cost goals when he plays.
