  • Welcome to QPR and Shepherds Bush Rio!
We have got a lot of whingey whining old women, nothings good enough for them fans, but thankfully most of them are just on the internet. The supporters at the games will give you a massive welcome and will all be over the moon you have joined us to be our defensive king pin.

But no, let us build a team of 15-20 year olds because they are young and hungry
Who is now 35 and on the decline

Don't worry fella I have no respect for Redknapp full stop

I don''t think anybody has said build a team with 15-20 year olds but we will have 3 centre backs now all over 34

Glad to see we have learnt so much from last time

          Good job TF and Co
Totally missed the point. I think it would be very rare that any premier league player (18 to 40 years of age) would play all 38 games and on that basis expecting Rio to play that volume of games or a number of games around that figure would appear unfair and actually not a realistic target especially if players who are younger are expected and will play less

I would guess the average number of games for a player in the prem is about 28ish games so if we got 25 out of Rio are we doing that bad????

Other then goalkeepers what players nowadays are ever presents

Play him in the games that matter the ones we need to keep clean sheets and get points. Play him against the likes of hull, palace ect and when we go city, scum, liverpool rest him. let him recover.
This deal is about experience and time management. Dont sign him expect him to play 38 prem games and a cup run. Expect him to come in be a leader on and off the pitch but play in our important games which aint scum and liverpool its burnley and leicester
            Absolutely spot on.

When we got Nelsen everyone said too old.. Back up player... Etc.. In the end he was easily our stand out player of the season that year..

I would rather put my faith in an experienced centre half the first year up than an inexperienced (especially of the PL) player at the heart of our defence...

We already have 2 "experienced" centre backs why do we need another ?

Especially one who will be on more money than both of them

As for Nelson he should of just been back up but it was testament to how terrible we were that he played so many games

                    • Yeah we currently have 2 experienced centre backs, both of which are not good enough for the premier league and both not in the same league as Ferdinand

                          • we were all thrilled when we signed Chris Samba for £12 m - what a disaster he was

well done to the board and Harry if this deal goes through!

This. Samba was going to be our saviour as I recall.
I have warmed to Rio during this WC. I think he could be a good influence and if it is one year on reduced wages I don't have a problem with it.

Exactly this! People are screaming for Caulker but I wouldn't want him alongside Ned, both too inexperienced. Caulker and Rio yes, or Ned and Rio yes. I really don't see how we can REALISTICALLY sign a better CB than Ferdinand. Williams would have been excellent but in sure he could go to most clubs in the top 10
