who on the whole have performed and have now experienced the sharp end. The problem is that basic defending has gone out of the window - all goals vs England came from defensive errors. Sad to say the one experienced, form player we really missed is he who can not be mentioned. Him and Cashley alongside Cahill would definitely have tightened things up. You need units and structure, all the more so if you are going to play an attacking in strength game. The new Roy appears to have forgotten things which were second nature. There were times when we looked chaotic. Maybe he's having a belated mid life crisis ;)

And not just England who have a few youngsters out there. Chile are a very young side who were brilliant. On the whole I'd say young players have been a success so far.

You don't grow unless you eat, and that starts at a rather early age.

I think in theory if you take players from the lower league and give them a go in the premier League, they will play with heart. These are players who on the whole are greatful of their chance at the big time.

in some ways it's about personalities... i remember warnock claiming that he never imagined that derry or hill would be playing week in, week out, but that he needed personalities like them in he dressing room.

young doesn't mean hungry any more than old means experienced pro who is bound to impress the younger players. there are plenty of young players who will sit on a bench for £50k a week and there are plenty of older players who will happily bank the same amount for turning out for a lesser team.

It's not just about signing young players its about signing players who see going to QPR as a step up in their career

What we don't want are players who see Rangers as beneath them and are just after a last pay day.

We have a lot of experience in the squad and we need to start buying players for the future and not just a season at a time as otherwise every year we will need to rebuild

They were let down by the older players on the team......

As has been said before...I don't think it is anything to do with a players age but more his personality.

I think people saying that we need young and hungry players is a rational reaction to the choices of player all too often brought in in recent seasons, aged and lethargic.

Asking for young AND hungry doesn't necessarily mean that the people making these requests automatically believe that young = hungry.
