Well, we're likely to go in with four CBs this season, one is 27, one is 34, one is 35, and you'd like us to add another 35 year old? Sounds like people like you and the bunny boy are basing your opinions on what Ferdinand was. His best days are long gone.

I'd rather we signed a good young player that can only improve, rather than someone who's at the very end of his career and carrying a back injury. You obviously can't see the very real risk of adding yet another ageing CB.

It's not delusional wanting to reject a player that's well past his best. What is delusional is wanting to sign has-been superstar players, regardless of the risks.

As Joey said, QPR shouldn't be a place where good footballers come to die. Seems you and bunny think differently.

We need experience in that defence, and he has got bundles if it, and is easily still good enough. Would really be happy with him.

I don't think Hill will make the 25, cup games and coaching behind the scene i suspect.

I'm a bit on the fence but leaning towards "no". He would help us if he actually played. But we'd be fools to sign him on a multi-year contract on big money. He is crocked and likely to spend most of the next couple of years sidelined.

Too many wide-eyed kids here desperate for us to sign ageing superstars. In the last few weeks we've been linked with every has-been going. Ferdinand Cashley Lumpalard Cole among them, and some here have been getting stiffies thinking about them.

Just because they've won things and had successful careers elsewhere doesn't mean they're still good enough. None of the above four players won anything last season and have been outed by their clubs. I'm not convinced Ferdinand would get through a 38-game season. Too many are seduced by reputations rather than reality.

I think Joey got it spot on. Some here would do well to heed his words.

Here's some stats for you to chew over:

Rio Ferdinand-1995-2016. (Born 07 Nov, 1978) Defender. Current season & career stats available, including appearances, goals & transfer fees.

It looks like Ferdinand played just 23 domestic games last season and only 14 of them were prem games. Where was he for the other 24?

He's too much of a risk.

I don't think we are looking to sign all three of those but if we did, I for one wouldn't lose a moments sleep, three solid English professionals that wouldn't come here for the money!

If Rio played 24 games for us next year I would take that all day long!

We all know mistakes where made the last time but every time we are linked with a player this panic reaction is laughable.

A young man(35) tore England a whole new one the other night, Dunne was supposed to be washed up last season, I knew he was going to give us a good season, and that's all we need from these guys, a lot on here will be to young to remember but, I remember a young Rangers team being augmented by old gits like David Webb, Frank McClintock and John Hollins and that team didn't do too badly.

We all need a chill pill, HR isn't my cup of tea but even I can't see him ****ing this up, to much experience and too much money at his disposal, it will be alright on the night dudes.

                    Spot on.

He's won more trophies than the rest of the Rangers squad put together. Sure he's not got many more seasons in him but his knowledge alone would improve us, his very presence would have an impact.

All of a sudden, he's not good enough for us. I think some of our fans need to be more realistic. I respect everyone's right to an opinion but we're not talking about a thirty something with no record, we're talking about one of the best defenders in PL history. He hasn't become a mug overnight.

Before I get shot down in flames by all the anti Rio brigade, may I remind you that Ryan Nelsen, Richard Dunne and Clint Hill are well over 30 and have been our best defenders in the lat 2 seasons.

Get down to the bush Rio, asap, you'd be a great asset.

If he is so injury prone i would rather we go for the Swedish CB at West Brom. He wanted to move to London last year. Not sure we were after him, though.

Jonas Olsson is his name. Not as injuryprone as Rio.

I sincerely hope a comparison isn't being made between Rio Ferdinand and Jonas Olsson.

                            THERE IS NO COMPARISON

But at least he will stay on the Pitch for majority of the games.
