Having Cannavaro was a joke. He offered nothign and his English wasnt great so never gonna offer much. Viera is fine because it's an international tournament so he can add opinion on his natoin, polus played in Italy etc, but more to the point, he's ok to have on a british station because he played in England most of his career.

AS for the BBC, some of the people they pay to work on MOTD are simply awful..... Robbie Savage... FFS give me strength, and Kevin Kilbane.... blimey.

If they have a panel of ex players being critical on football, they should be players who have earned massive respect in the game, hence the likes of Hanson, Shearer, Lineker, Keane, Viera etc are fine, and to that point, Cannavaro is a good choice, but not an ideal fit for an English show.

Good post Del. The BBC think their being edgy getting likes of Kilbane and Bright etc but for me it just dampens down the shows. Murphy at least knows the game and played at a decent level; club and international

Cannavaro sat in the chair like he never actually wanted to be their but was getting paid so hey ho. Think there are better international individuals they could have got I said Fergie earlier but what about Manchini or Maldini; Leonardo few years back was decent Better still why not get a current player who has missed out like Ibrahimović
