A lot has been said about how we signed the wrong sort of player the year we went down and you would be a fool not to agree with that.
But why has the 'wrong players' has come out to be just older players ???
The year we went down I thought it was the younger players and those in their prime that should have being doing the job that actually failed us with thier attitude not the older ones.
The apparent "young and hungry players" or those near their prime that let us down were:
Mbia, Granero, Diakite, Adel, Cisse, Samba
While the old ones that let us down (with their attitude) were:
Ceaser & Bosingwa.
My point is the wrong sort of player should be based on their attitude not their age. You have to remember that the decent core of those players were the granddad army of Hilly Nelsen & Derry.
I personally would not mind seeing the likes of Lescott or 2 or 3 more players his age who give it their all rather than see a few tosspots in their mid 20s that will not bother trying.
