Chelsea now arent the same club i grew up hating ,they are now some huge champions league club , i new chelsea as a load of bullying right wing racist divs , thats the chelsea of the 80s , we were better than them in those days and pulled off some memorable victories ,Fulham were nothing ,just a small lower league club 6/7000 odd fans ,no agg, nothing. when the Fulham Park Rangers merger was muted it was us that got it stopped ,( remember Man City 87 at home ?)because we were the bigger ,more militant ,organised ,passionate support ,not them ,they did nothing.
Nowadays however Fulham is the club i despise more than Chelsea , we will never be able to compete with Chelsea ( the odd shock result excepted ) and on the European stage they are a massive club, but fulham are there for us to take the p iss out off, they larged it against us whenever they could, they are everything a proper club isnt and the time has now come when fulham have dropped down to their rightfull place , scrapping with Brentford for the bragging rights of being West Londons 3rd placed team.

To say we will NEVER be able to compete with Chelsea is a bold statement to make. No one knows what the future holds for either club and no one is ever guaranteed to stay at the top permanently. Look at Man Utd this season. You could also look at Liverpool. Once the masters of English football and Europe, but how many times have they won the prem in its current form? Nottingham Forest conquered Europe twice, in 79 and 80, where are they now?

Then there is Man City, a club that came down with us in 1996, then suffered the drop to the third tier, as we did. Now champions of England. Their transformation in the last 15 years has been nothing short of miraculous. Who's to say the same can't happen to us while Chelsea follow the pattern of other fallen clubs?

With the current board we have, and with the new training ground and stadium in the pipeline, anything is possible. What's that phrase, never say never
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Remember it clearly. I was mascot that day! As I lead the players out onto the pitch, it got steamed on by loads of R's (from memory who just sat in the centre circle). Totally agreed with what they were doing thou and glad it happened, even if it did ruin what would of been a great 5 mins with my hero's at the time.

Us basking in our size over Fulham wd be like Danny de Vito getting all superior because he's slightly taller than the poisoned dwarf in Dallas....

Weare: disagree with you on rivalry. I'm 46 but have very little interest in Chelsea rivalry (a certain memorable night in SW6 aside...) because life has moved on. They are in a different stratosphere and its just embarrassing to my mind that some fans try to keep it going. Yes there are one or two old time Chelsea fans who remember the rivalry but to most of them we might as well be Brentford. I agree the rivalry with Fulham is fairly new but if both sets of supporters put away their rose-tinted spectacles they wd have to accept that we are two very similar sized clubs both very close to each other - and I've no doubt we will be swapping divisions and playing each other a whole lot in the coming years, as cd see both of us becoming yo-yo clubs. Recipe for good healthy rivalry in my book...
FWIW I'm also 46, and is exactly word for word how I see it.....

To be honest, a few who keep referring to our 4th tier crowds as a yardstick of what we are as a club or a fanbase would do well to take a look at the historic record of our respective crowds and league placings, which are very similar. In fact we average slightly higher in both.

Personally, I see QPR as the most direct rival we have.

there has been an edge ever since Went broke Martyn Busbys leg with an atrocious tackle. The utter ****** spouted on their forums adds to my dislike for that cub. Hope they spiral into oblivion
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

Still if its an age thing I don't know and I don't really care about Chelsea's new fans but from when I started going in 76 to the end of my teenage years we were fact a better side!! And the off the field bullying and right wing affiliation how can you possibly hate Fulham in comparison to them?? What have they really done to stoke the fire ?? Done us 6-0 when we were all over the place .. Even bumped into their " firm " in loose terms walking to HQ last year .. About as scarey as a Disney classic.. Annoying, irritating but off the radar compared to the scum and I for one couldn't care 1 iota for their indifference towards us!

I think they'll be okay with attendance, sell each ticket at £10 and £5 for kids.
