Some od the responses on here are nonsense. The bloke done the business last year turning us around and getting us up. Plus has a decent record with buying youngsters and bringing them through. Years ago but he brought through defoe, lampard, ferdinad, cole and carrick but he cant see a talent can he.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't understand the hate for the manager who just got us back in the big time! He may not be the guy 3 years from now but I believe he deserves a chance to manage us from the start of the season in the EPL, why wouldn't he deserve that?

        It isn't hate, Gator.

It's the reality. Time waits for no one and in my experience of watching the game that applies on and off the park. Harry would have quit altogether if we hadn't gone up. That in itself suggests that he is coming to the end of his career, and I'm not sure that it qualifies him to be running the show a division above.

One good thing is that TF is keep a very watchful eye on the business this summer and has gone on record distancing himself from older players who are maybe past their best.

He cleared out all the bad attitude, sent the prima donnas out on loan to free up wages, organised the second meanest defence in the championship and got us promoted all whilst having a very decent champ side on the treatment table.

It's hard to know what exactly he is supposed to have done wrong.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but some people here seem to be digging him out just for the sake of it.
          100% Agree,
I understand peoples feelings towards him (my feeling is that he never really wanted to manage us so his heart wasn`t in it).
But it is just ridiculous to even contemplate sacking him.Or him retireing
HE got us to the Prem (Luckiliy maybe but still did it) so he deserves the job for another season.
We would all have loved to see the beautiful game week in week out, but I really do believe that this season we have a great chance of putting together
a quality, cheapish, young, fast, hungry squad.

Let's look at the original thread title.

ALL THE HARRY BASHERS, WHAT YOU THINK OF HIM NOW?

Apart from it's grammatical awkwardness.....it's a direct question to the good people of this forum who may have misgivings about having Harry Redknapp as boss.

There seems to be some amazement and slightly high pitched hysteria that some people still have misgivings about HR.........despite what happened at wembley.

            embarrassing.

This isn't the 1990s anymore, wages are more important than transfer fees. And our wage bill was towards the top of the PL let alone the division below.

Even if you do want to look at transfer fees rather than wages, take a look at this:

              and this

              or this

              or this

Those four teams spent, combined, about as much as Matt Phillips cost us.

We signed one of the top, if not *the top* wingers in the division last summer for £5m. We spent another £4m on one of the best strikers in the division. Imagine if a top PL side signed Suarez and Hazard then moaned about a 'restricted budget'

You're basically parroting Harry's nonsense media waffle here. Down to the bare bones, couldn't quite get the boys we wanted, lot of tough sides in this division, have to make the best of what we've got, etc etc.
No I don't see many, but I see Wigan and Reading. They're struggling to come to terms with it now. Their fans have a lot more to gripe about given they had their own "superstars" too, right?

Our wage budget was ridiculous. If that's what you meant when you said budget than I don't think it's fair to blame Harry for inheriting Hughes' problems. If anyone does deserve some blame it would be poor Tony. Apologies but perhaps I should have written transfer budget when I said it wasn't the greatest.

Like I said he done ok in the summer with Philips and Austin which you liken to Suarez and Hazard which don't think they would be equivalent to anyway, but fair enough. So if we signed Suarez and Hazard and they went out for half the season you would still blame Harry? In January Tony put his foot down so we couldn't get some of our first choices and that's not Harry's waffles. We had one of the biggest hits injury wise in the whole league and that wasn't Harry nonsense.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Harry's our greatest manager ever and the greatest thing since sliced bread but we got to sift through media hype, club spin, journalist waffle and all other rubbish and form an opinion based on facts. We're certainly entitled to different opinions but we also would do well to discuss the reasons behind them which is what we're doing.

So was fergie out of touch, booby robson in their twighlight years. Your chatting rubbish and joke of a fan. Completely forget where we came from and what state our club was in last year.
Harry has been a massive factor in us getting promoted clearing out the wan**** and galvanizing the team. So what if we hadnt of got promoted he didnt want to hang around in the championship, hes a prem manager all day long. I bet there would be a fair few clubs who would love him. Your clueless mate.

Harry screwed up in trying to keep us up, but FFS anyone who had to deal with the dressing room Hughesless left, had their work cut out! He has now rectified that, all the vitriol directed at him is bollo*ks, his brief was to get us back. It wasn't pretty, but 'Arry delivered, he should be supported to the hilt, he knows the Premier League like the back of his hand. We need a mixture of young and old signings, a fit Rio, on pay as you play would be be fu*king great with the Chief! Let's get rid of all the negativity COYRS!

Some fair points but not everyone is going to agree no matter what! To people in their 30's a guy that is 67 is a dinosaur no matter what he has done in the past! I have a feeling Harry will probably only stick around for this season no matter what and I don't have any real issues with that, I can however understand why there are some concerns!

No they dont. Tbf the ones that are slagging harry off are just mugging themselves off tbf so ill leave it alone. You want to **** off a manager who just got us promoted then fine look like a first class ***.
Want to believe all the media hype and not look at the facts from last year then be my guess and all moan like little girls about how are awful manager got us back up to the prem with our pensioner squad and forget signings like simpson austin and phillips and remy the year before.

Again, we signed one player who cost as much as all of our promotion rivals combined spending throughout the entire season.

I really don't get how you can't say we didn't have a big transfer budget. We spent last season in the Championship, not the premier league.

If you're after an opinion based on fact I think that stat should be pretty relevant, no? How many other Championship signings of £4m+ can you name, ever? There have hardly been any. Two of them were us, last summer.

Phillips and Austin were among the top few players in their positions in the league in 2012/13, hence them being the equivalent of Hazard and Suarez for a PL side. I really don't see how you can dispute this. Would it help if I said Mata and Rooney instead? Cazorla and Aguero?

                            Fu*k off Jamie!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

It's all one and the same. If you sign a 31yr old freebie for £40k per week for three years that'll cost you £6m, or about the same as a £4m 22yr old paid £10k pw over four years. And the latter will have resale value.

It's not that Harry didn't have money to spend. Of course he did. You think Benayoun played for free? Morrison? He just didn't want to splash out on big transfer fees and put it towards wages instead (which was fair enough given we didnt know what division we'd be in - thank god we didnt spend 10m on Rhodes for instance)
