The bloke got us promted the first time of asking out of a league that can often eat you up or consume you for years when relegated. On top of that he did it with one of the most dysfunctional squads.
He's also done it with mainly experienced players who will now not be here next year which allows us to go out and invest more wisely. He done a top a job end off. Some of his tactics were a bit weird last year but the league we were in is a killer.
Hes managed in the prem league most of his career and done a fine job and has contacts all over the place. I dont think he will be with us long but we are in good hands with harry this year.

I think that he should stay until his contract expires (next May/June). In the meantime, we should be looking at bringing in a new coach/manager who can take over in the 2015 season, with a smooth transition. Otherwise he is going to up and go and we will be left high and dry.

agreed, if you offered me champagne football and no promotion or grinding out results and getting lucky in the 90th minute at Wembley, I think we would all take the latter all day long.

Harry is in the latter stages of his career, but has know how, good experience in the pl and should get our backing.

He's got mine at the moment. Let's see what happens

Plenty of people slating him and the season is 2 months away!!

A man that admits to his mistakes and just looks to rectify them so it doesn't happen again, hence why he is successful in business.

If you think a 67 year man that never admits when he is wrong and gives the same dead end press conferences wk in wk out, fantastic club and smashing set of fans blah blah blah should be considered exempt from any kind of criticism from the paying public, then I really am lost for words.
I tend to agree with you allot Nick but on this occasion I think a few home truths need to be said.

To call fans plebs for questioning a manager that had a terrific amount of luck maids is very out of order and if you said that in the street you would be tucked up on concrete.
His press conferences are a bit of a joke but in all honesty I couldn't care less what he says as long as we're winning. But I do agree with you on his lack of ability to hold his hands up when wrong, something that doesn't anger me but frustrates me.

My opinion on HR still remains the same as it did all of last season.. he got rid of a lot of dead wood, ridiculously unlucky with injuries and he managed to get us promoted at the first attempt. Now next season is the big one, the make or break season for HR. Its now completely his squad, who he brings in who he lets go. If we go down or bring in a load of ageing players then he deserves everything he gets, but to suggest sacking him after last season IMO is a bit of a joke.
          SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

We are QPR hardly big time charlies. We also got promoted without two of our key players for half a season. Quite clearly tf didnt want to spend out on a striker in jan and fair play to him for that. Its football and a long season and you will have uos and downs. Harry brought in a lot of loans as the money wasnt there last year but Im pretty sure it will be different this season. SOme are getting carried away with all these stupid rumours in the press. JUst because its in the papers children doenst mean it all true.

Replace a manager who's got us promoted - heard it all embarrassing.
Well effectively yes, we were the Real Madrid of the Championship.

You say we had two of our key players out for half the season. You could equally say we had a squad good enough to consider Benayoun, Hoilett or Traore our 4th choice attacking midfielder (Phillips, Krancjar, Morrison ahead in pecking order). How many other sides in the league could say that?

and yes I'm still very firmly in the "he's not really very good" camp.

one last minute goal doesn't change that. Keogh blasts it into row Z and this forum spends all summer moaning about how terrible HR was last season.

fair enough but Keough didn't and the rest is history

Harry's not the best manager in the world but as stated earlier, along with Warnock, he's in an elite club of 2 out of 20+ that's got us up to the PL.

I'll make judgements on our results next season because they are real and all that matters imo

Hoilett was a hindrance most of the year. Phillips out half the year if not more. Kranjar was hit and miss and morrison didnt come until mid feb. The bloke done a outstanding job. We are not real madrid and never were in the championship. We had injuries effect us most of the year and were very rarely able to put out a full strength team.

How about give the bloke credit for transforming us and giving us all a chance to see our team in the prem again. Unbelievable how people forget how far we have come.

A funny story about Harry: Doug (dsqpr) and myself had gone to The Sprinbok after Wembley to sing a few songs and celebrate with the lads, it was great fun, the place was mobbed, we eventually moved on! We were debating the exact topic of this thread, Doug is still not a Harry fan, as we walked by Loftus Road who came walking out but none other than Harry! I didn't know what to say to the dude other than thanking him several times for getting my team promoted! He was quite impressed that we had flown over from Canada for the match and said "that's what this is all about, it's all for the fans"! I'm too old to be into hero worship but I did get a picture with my new found friend, it went kind of viral on twitter, especially in Canada!

Got to give Harry credit. The team was a mess and he had a tough job in his hands. He did the what was asked of him. Never really contemplated getting rid of him. All you had to do is look at the situation with the injuries and what we were up against. You have to give him next season now and I think he'll prove his doubters wrong again.

You sound like the tabloids now and appear to have been taken in by the spin of the papers like our opponents have. We had an aging side with no pace however a side made up of recognisable names. Just because a player is high profile and was good four or five years ago don't mean there at that standard now.

We had a team of names and former very good players on the decline and we made the best of it. There were better sides then us who had younger more mobile players and they went up automatically
