Well he had his work cut out and managed to put together a team that got promoted at the first time of asking so my assessment has to be positive.
Now he has the chance to build a team for the premier league and once again I will judge him at the end of the season or the end of his time as manager which ever comes first.
There will be no knee jerk reactions based on the players linked in the press and my judgment will depend solely on where we end up at the end - stay up then job done, relegated then bye bye.
Hard to disagree with that Blue.

we could get any manager in the world and some fans still wouldn't be happy
that's just the way it is
since we went down in 1996, we've had over 20 managers and Harry and Warnock are the only 2 that have got us back to the PL
these facts are real, regardless of what people think

Refused to give youngsters a try even when we were short of bodies.

That said the positives are he seems to have sorted out the dressing room which is some feat after the relegation season and got rid of a lot of dead wood last summer and replaced them albeit we were left very short up front for the same reasons the January window didn't really work for us.

I'm fairly relaxed about him being in charge for next season. He has had a year to clear up the mess and legacy from the poor recruitment under Hughes. This is his team entirely so onus will be on him to get them playing the way he wants them to. I'm happy to give him a chance to see what he can do now he has managed to get us up and will have had two full transfer windows.
For me your second paragraph sums it up perfectly. The dressing room was full of poison, that was a tough task alone. Yeah we wasn't pretty, but we got the job done in the end. For what has surfaced, the players we missed out on in Janaury also seems to be like a blessing in disguise. How people can consider bombing him out before giving him a fair crack is baffleing. Lets be real, it's going to be a ruddy tough task this season and we won't stay up with our current squad. We all know we need at least 5 new additions to have half a chance and we won't be able to coupe with the injuries to key players this season like we had last season.

Fair play to him, he had a tough job to do in putting togerther a squad to challenge for promotion having moved on 19 players last summer. He won promotion, albeit in a very fortunate manner in both the semi final at home and the late late smash 'n' grab match winner.

I don't rate his performance as QPR manager very highly due to the high number of games where QPR failed to score during the last 2 seasons. Some of his team selections throughout his time at the club have been baffling to say the least i.e. the selection of Mackie, Taarabt and this season Keane, as a lone strikers made no sense whatsoever and only produced one fluke victory (at Chelsea), and his negative defensive selection at home to Blackpool, are just two of them.

His failure during 3 transfer windows to bring in strikers who can adequately do the job of scoring goals is also very disappointing.

I hope he does better this time around.

to all you negative people out there, in your opinion his poor tactics and mismanagement meant we finished 4th and indirectly thanks to him, you had a day at Wembley that will be with all of us forever.

if you think he got lucky that's fine, I'd rather have a lucky manager than not!!

As for next season, WE ARE NOT GOING TO GET INTO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, I do hope no one is upset by this.

1st priority is to stay up - leave it to him and let's be realistic and supportive of our manager and our club and give him the chance to build and create his own team and keep us up for years to come.

Spot on mate - the bloke done a remarkable job clearing out the crap we had and got us promoted. People are panicking due to stupid tabloid rumours which is a joke. Lets at least wait and see what happens before we start throwing the toys out of the pram.

100% agree with almost all comments on here (apart from the one saying 13-15th place is fine)( it is more than fine but just can`t see it).
As fans of this football club we are all under no illusions (well some maybe), and that last year we wern`t the best and were "lucky".
But to be fair to the Gaffer he ain`t done much wrong, sure there are tactics, formations, subs, loans, unused players and loads of other things that were questionable.
But that applys to almst every manager of a team.
But as the manager who got us promoted surely he is entitled to be the manager at the start of next season.
For what it`s worth when we got Harry I said he was the right man for the job, my only issue was that he came in and done the professional thing of tightening up at the back
(we were shipping2-3 goals in the first 30 mins in lots of games) at the expense of attacking, and we just seem to be stuck playing that way.
I thought he`d have us playing quick attacking football.
I`m hopefull he`ll bring in more of the right sort, but please just not on loan again.

Jesus mate we got promoted what more do you want. We didnt have no divine right to go up but we did and that was down to harry as much as anyone. Yeah we got lucky on occassions but not the whole season. For long periods we were unlucky with losing our top striker and winger but with harry there we grinded our way to the end pf the season as a TEAM and then took our chance.

We are QPR hardly big time charlies. We also got promoted without two of our key players for half a season. Quite clearly tf didnt want to spend out on a striker in jan and fair play to him for that. Its football and a long season and you will have uos and downs. Harry brought in a lot of loans as the money wasnt there last year but Im pretty sure it will be different this season. SOme are getting carried away with all these stupid rumours in the press. JUst because its in the papers children doenst mean it all true.

Replace a manager who's got us promoted - heard it all embarrassing.

Blimey, you don't want much do you. Harry got us promoted by hook or by crook, that's the bottom line.
This time round, if we are the fourth worst team come the end of the season, that will be an achievement imo.!

The players we have need him,the new players will need him. Tony needs him. He is a players man. He is a football man. He must stay then move upstairs. WE need him.

Again I must have missed all those posts where people are spouting high expectations

The only one I have seen is where someone said they would expect 13th-15th

I think the majority realise we will struggle which is why the club need to be going for players who will also play in the Championship if we get relegated.

Before anyone starts pontificating about being ungrateful, it was his well paid job to get us up and he did it by the skin of his teeth.

But Harry is not the future. His reliance on getting more out of players in the twilight of their careers will not work in the EPL and was barely enough for the championship. We may not be Real Madrid, but we could be more like Swansea or Southampton, and start planning for a longer term future. Harry is not the man to get that ball rolling.
