Is anyone concerned that 90% of the players we're linked to are exactly the same kind of players TF says we don't want?
Is there truth in the rumours or is it lazy journalism?

Now I'd be happy with one or two of the linked players - Barry and Lescott, but what if we go down this route is like to see this backed up with some young, hungry players.

Well that's been out policy in the past and the press hammered us for it . Players like Ferdinand and Barry are available and would command good wages so it's most probably the rags putting two and two together and making five . People want us to **** up and sign old has beans . My point is don't believe everything you read in the papers . Judge the club on ots additions come august

I think we will surprise a few people - tf has said we are not going back down the same old route again so would be pretty embarassing to go back on that.
Reckon the likes of that Ajax lad, Hooper and Williams are more the type we will be after.

Harry says the only players he wants to sign are ones he knows and can trust. The only person at the club that can over-rule him is TF, which is so far what he seems to be doing.

Not even slightly worried. Just because some journo's constantly link us to every available 30+ player looking for a pay off every transfer window doesn't mean its true.... TF has already made it very clear he has learnt from past mistakes and wont be signing any of these types of players. My advice is to take every link with a pinch of salt.

hmmmmmm. i fully expect us to be signing ageing, slow players while harry is in charge.

it will be another season of grim football with slow build up play and an odd goal in each game.

think we can safely rule out signings such as ravel, signorsson, caulker etc etc and say hello to hanggerland, joe cole, ferdinand, crouch and kevin philips.

              only over 30s need apply

Hitman, apparently your post is in direct contradiction to what TF has clearly stated...

                Just saying.

                    Few points:

Its fairly clear Harry and TF have a different agenda. Harry wants short term, TF says he has learned his lesson. Therefore suspect there will be a bit of both - couple of old timers on big wages/free transfers as well as a few more up and coming players.

Re lazy journalism - think its more agents putting it around. And we all lapping it up so not really fair to blame the hacks imho.

Re being worried - if last few seasons are anything to go by, we won't sign anyone till pre-season and it will hardly be any of the names we have so far been linked with.

I know it is Stan, but i can see him caving in at the 11th hour.

Harry gets some unfair flack considering he brought in Remy mbia Austin Phillips and Simpson wouldn't say they are all slow over 30.

We need to chill. I'm very confident that we will land 5/6 players with a mixture of potential and experience. More importantly we need to get rid of the misfits on loan. Lastly in my view we need to give the likes of Hill, oneill, Zamora and faurlin new contracts - probably pay as you play for all 3 and 1 year contracts. I personally would like us to sign Doyle, kranjcar and Morrison permanently.

Mbia was a Hughes signing, but I agree with the point youre making.

A lot of it is probably bad journalism, but it doesn't surprise me that Arry is going for the same English players he's had before, and also that we're going for a lot of free agents.

We need to spend wisely like Southampton did when they were promoted with us, they spent big on promising players which have done well for them and can be sold for a profit. Sadly I don't trust Redknapp to spend any of that money.
