any goalie rooted to his goal-line and can't command his box is pretty damn useless. The defeat at Villa was down to him, proved very costly
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

Punching is common amongst many foreign keepers. Many do not catch the ball.Don't make them bad keepers, but just the way the game is played in many countries,or at least it used to as i don't watch much foreign football these days.

The bloke can't hold onto the ball people.
Arsenal away wasn't that where the ball went straight up above his head and he managed to fumble it in?...He was awful, i don't think the defence had any confidence in him at all
Bosingwa no2...getr rid....we're not glamorous enough for him, and crockery bill at the club has trebled since he turned up!!

Never a truer word spoken BUT surely you are referring to Green!

Honestly never known a keeper be so poor at coming off his line for crosses and corners. I'm sure he knows it, the club know it and so do other teams.
The worst part of his keeping ability which in the Premiership is gonna be ruthlessly exposed week in week out.

Every team we played second half of the season put in crosses and corners across the 6 yard line as they all knew Green wouldn't come for them.
How'd we keep so many clean sheets then? Nine on the trot. And end up with the third fewest goals conceded? March- April we struggled with corners, but that was in no way down to Green. A 'band of brothers' gets us up and some of you want to bring back some s hit bag mercenaries who couldn't care less about our club????? Who refused to help us get back up? And someone prepared to steal a living from the club for the next two years? For Chrissake fellas? Really?

No, that was West Brom at home... and it was Rob Green!

Love the way he's getting slated for mistakes made by other keepers now.

The Arsenal away game he was probably man of the match and kept the score at 1-0 if memory serves me right, when it could've been a stupid scoreline. Loads of their fans were calling for them to sign him after that.

From my point of view, I haven't once said Cesar should come back into the team ahead of Green who helped us win promotion. However, what I have said is it's rather pathetic the way some fans are slating Cesar when he's been nothing but a model pro, and by all accounts incredibly down to earth and humble considering the things he's won in the game, and always gave 100% and had some incredible performances along the way. The fact he's been compared to some of our shockingly poor signings is a joke and an insult.

Imo he doesn't deserve to be slagged off.

Also I get sick of hearing the Villa goal was his fault. It was a floated ball dropping among our 3 defenders and 2 strikers. The Defence should've cleared the ball. At no point was it goal side of the crowd, so if Cesar had of come for it, he'd of had to bundle through players to try and get the ball, which is anything but a certainty. More likely if a keeper comes in that situation someone gets a flick into an empty net and they are accused of wandering into no mans land for a ball they'd never get. You cant have it both ways.

When that ball was played, we had 2 CB's around the penalty spot already and retreating even deeper, Bosingwa was with Agbonlohor and let him get in front of him and he headed it on the 6 yard line. The defenders should've dealt with that ball all day long.

Can't agree with you over the Villa goal, Del. Ball was played in from deep, the defence was running backward, so the ball travelled over them. So the ball was for the keeper to come get. And it happened right in front of our horrified eyes. Respect your opinion thought, mate.

All keepers make mistakes whether your Phil Parkes, David Seaman, Rob Green or Julio Cesar to dig him out is ridiculous. I would love Green to stay but if he doesn't then Cesar will be a very good replacement !

But how closely if you think he is any better at dealing with crosses. Dracula could do a better job!

At least get your facts right, Cesar did not refuse to play for the club, it was the clubs decision to off load one of keepers as they were both on 50k plus and there was more chance off getting a club to take Cesar than green. As to the clean sheet run if you watched the games as you say you would have seen that Green made very few other than routine saves in that period, good defending and poor finishing was the reason.

Dracula? And crosses? Ho ho. That was funny back in 1968, mate. Here's a new one for ya: Waiter there's a fly in my soup. Don't speak so loudly, sir. Everyone will want one...... Green made very few errors from crosses this season. And all keepers make some errors. Who was in goal for the nine clean sheets? Routine saves? F ack me: Check out the top ten saves video. Tbh I'd prefer to build on a winning team than bring back the errors of a past losing team. Let's hope your hero's offloaded ASAP. I'm happy to have the Rangers back. I think TF et al are too.

My thought on the matter is that he is, without a doubt, a world class goalkeeper. In that season he pulled off some world class saves, but he dropped more clangers than made saves. I could never relax with him in goal to be honest. I would rather see Green given a chance than Cesar. Green proved himself this season to be a top keeper, and deserves a go.
