Anyone know when the club normally release details?

Wouldn't mind a trip to the coast in the sun, Pompey or Southend would be good.

Cheers Wests. 1 week after the season finishes, and already thinking about the next game.

World Cup or not, can't stand pre season. Bores the **** out of me.

I know not many on here like it, but at least there's a bit of cricket to go to. Good oppertunity for a pint in the sun.

We MUST be due a decent pre season surely?!! Can't remember the last time we started a season after some decent fixtures and performances. We always seem to be 2-3 weeks behind everyone else.
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

            2015/2016, average at best.....

            2016/2017, same old, same old....

            2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

I imagine with plans sorted this late, the opportunities weren't great.

Looks like tour of West Country, few games in Europe and couple of home games against bigger sides

Whatever is arranged we mustn't lose sight of what they are meant to achieve, ie, getting the team ready for the start of the season. Said at the time in my opinion, one of the main reasons our last prem campaign started disastrously was because we were woefully ill prepared by poor pre season matches in Asia. Yes is was a marketing success, but when we were beating teams easily 5-0 with a mix of first teamers, youth players and trialists, the penny should drop that they aren't worth playing. It was far too easy and complacency was allowed to set in. We'd have got a better challenge having a training match among the squad.

We started the campaign losing 0-5 to Swansea and the pressure mounted and compounded the situation thereafter to the point it became a joke. We can't let that sort of thing happen again.
