This is after him being probaby one of 2 or 3 players who actually was a good thing for us in the year we went down. Then went on to establish himself in a top 5 prem team and get a call up to England which aftewrwards everyone was raving about him. But becuase hes been injured the last few months people have short memories and now stick their noses up to a signing like townsend. We need to get a grip and relise this prob wont happen but if it did we wpuld be very lucky.

On a lighter side as Matty said yousef whats up with this 1 winger thing mate? I rate phillips massively but we dont know how his recovery is going and how injury prone he is is questionale atm after the last year, plus are other option is hoilett who splits opinions but no one can argue that his return on goals and assits has been poor the last two years. Think its perfectly reasonable for us to be looking at certainly 1 winger or maybe even 2.
Don't misunderstand, I'd sign him if we could get him for a reasonable (without the ridiculous premium for homegrown players), I just believe he is more limited than his reputation here suggests.

    He's certainly better than Hoilett.

Valid points by the OP but to be honest he would be a much better option than Hoilett.

Then again he was only with us half the season so with full season could argue his rate would be enhanced

you give him no credit for his work rate either if you just look at stats. Yes stats are the telling feature but plenty more going on on a pitch other then goals and assists

Think we remains with some fans who have expectations above where QPR really should be and want signings of the standing that went drastically wrong for us.

At best were going to be a mid table prem side and the Likes of Ravel or Townsend would be cracking players in such a side. they are perhaps not top 6 players but then again neither are QPR a top six side

Simply our main focus when a signing a player should be, do they add value to the team, do they have potential, do they want to work hard, do they fit in our wage structure and do they want to play for QPR if they tick all of the above their ok by me

But Hoilett got the better of Buxton? And put it into the area?

I think people are misunderstanding, I never said I'd turn my nose up at him, I just don't think he'd be half as effective as he was when he was on loan

Townsend would be an absolute gem for us, yeh he's a but one dimensional but so is Arjen Robben and no-one has figured out how to stop him over the last 10yrs or so.

If you looked back the last two years at what hoilett has contributed you could probably count them all on two hands. Atm the wigan penalty and the corss in the final are very much in forefront of people minds.
These two occassions seem to have made up for his poor in effective displays. I been at games and been on here through out the year where most of us haven been tearing our hair out at the amount of times the guys produces f all and gives the ball away.

I also never said Hoilett was god's gift to QPR either? He's done nothing all season except run at people and have shots blocked, but he popped up where it was most important

Valid points from OP. Know a few spurs regulars who dont rate him. Would have him for a reasonable fee. Would prefer Redmond at Norwich as i feel he will cost less and has more potential

I don't really rate Townsend. Really hope we don't spunk 5M+ on him

If he can't just run past his man then he doesn;t offer much. Poor off the ball and too greedy. When he was here we had a team with low confidence and his directness suited us, we needed someone to have a go. Last year, in a better team, he got 0 assists and 1 goal from 56 shots. I doubt he'll ever replicate the form he had while he was here.

He's the archetypal fast, unintelligent, overrated, and probably overpriced English player. He drives my Spurs mates nuts.

Harry likes him though... and although that maybe one trick, he is pretty good at it.
Seem to recall he was one of the players who actually put a shift in last time round too...

                              This

HARRY REDKNAPP is planning to bring Tottenham duo Andros Townsend and Michael Dawson to QPR next season.

the blokes been injured most of the year btw. Hodgson absolutely loved him when he was fit, if he's good enough for England hes good enough for us. Absolute joke thread. We are qpr not madrid, man u, liverpool ect. When fit he would walk into our team.
