  • Respect for Steve McLaren

Just watched the TF interview on player and while hes talking Steve walks up and says 'Chairman' and gives TF a hug and says enjoy it

What a man Steve is must have been in pieces but not only did he find the courage to approach TF but the dignity and respect he does it with shows to me everything that is missing from the modern game. We need more men like him in Football

My opinion of him after the brolly game was as low as anyones but tell you what nothing but respect and admiration for the guy now

If he gets one of the free premier league jobs which are going I hope he smashes it out the park but obviously not at our expense

Everyone in the game says how he is one of the best coaches around, it's only the English media that makes him out to be bad as he didn't get England to the major tournement back then. If you look at his club record it is very good. For me would rather him then Redknapp in charge here.

    Good luck to him.

My view on him has took a complete U turn this season, proper nice bloke and has nothing but love for the game.

Cheers by the way West ; ) What a day!!!

I saw that, yeah fair play to him. Bet it didn't endear McLaren to the Derby faithful much though, all grinning and hugging with the oppositions Chairman 10 minutes after a smash and grab defeat like that!

Great story. One of our heroes this season. Him being here seems to have been invaluable for team spirit.

I also had a low opinion of McLaren after the Croatia game, but after what he achieved at Twente, I realised just how good a coach he is.

He also comes across as a humble person and this was evident by how he handled the situations before during and after the play offs. He stood along with his players to watch and applaud QPR, and probably told his players to use that experience to spur them onto winning automatic promotion next season.

                Uwe Rosler should take note

Without him I doubt we'd of even been at Wembley.

Absolutely integral to our early to mid season form. Dipped dramatically after his departure.

I agree - I think he is a very good coach and just looking at our points per week before and after will probably tell a story.

I would happily have him as our manager if there was a vacancy.

Yes, very classy and obviously an excellent coach. Very glad he was around to help us at the start of the season.

yes, he took defeat in the semis very well.
He couldn't say anything decent about QPR's performances over the 2 legs, but instead moaned and found excuses.

McClaren has shown himself to be a true Gent this season, nothing but good things to say about us.

Hope he takes Direby up next season, and wold be more than happy to see him back at LR as boss in the future..... What a turnaround in opinion

I'd have him over Redknapp next season, still one of the best coaches in the game we have
