Ain't controversial mate your just saying what we all know. Dunne had his contract extended last year and think hill will too. Interestingly a couple weeks ago hill said he'd love to stay here as a coach for a long time which make me think/hope discussions over a player coaching role are underway.

Totally agree mate and Dunne for the bench. We need two new CBs.

be great to have dunne's experience for certain lesser games n coming of the bench to shore things up late on....just hate to see clint get ripped to shreads in the prem....the fella dont deserve that!

I think the fact that he's been subbing himself off shows that he realises he's not got much left in the tank. I'd have him as squad player/coach - think his attitude is infectious!

But Hill knows his limits and knows he cannot handle the PL. In fact he stated this last season remember? coaching role will be the best for him.

You are on the money, I would stick with Clint at CB, he has Mir pace than Dunne, but Dunne has extensive prem league experience, tough call, add Rio, Mancienne , Caulker , lescott or Taylor and we are sorted, with the young Donaldson and Elmer as under age cover.
              Kept the faith!

The one area we have to be rock solid in in the PL is defence and Hill and Dunne unfortunately will not be able to live with what will be coming at them next season. If we can get two decent central defenders we have a chance of staying up.

Agree with this, have to be solid at the back, a good defence is the foundation of any successful team. Liverpool scored over 100 goals but their defence conceded 50 goals, which ultimately cost them the title.
Our first job is to become hard to beat, then we can look at having the right players to win games

Fully agree with OP. It was painful to watch clint get ripped last time in the prem! Would love for him to take on a player/coach role where he is used sparingly, in emergencies and help out the younger players come on. Ned has to be 1st choice, he's really grown this season and is clearly our best CB. Need to find someone to play regularly alongside him, with dunne and hill backing up. would love caulker at cardiff, would want to stay in the prem and would probably welcome a move back to london.

Think its a problem that needs to be dealt with because if we bring say ferdinand for example we are going to have only ned who's quick and under 30. Two cb are required imo with hills main role as coach.

hopefully we have learnt from our mistakes as this needed to be addressed when were first promoted to the prem.

yes remember we ended up with gabbidon/anton etc and it clearly didnt work...as someone else said we must have a solid defence and build from there!

I love Clint but not prem class..
