I really hope we manage to move Cesar on this summer to another club.
Hopefully he will become homesick after the world cup and return to another continent!
Rob Green for me all day & every day! For me Cesar is another of the mercenaries.

Green stick by us and has been a model pro and is with joey and co at the heart of what we have built this year. We don't want loads of unnecessary changes. Green is a class prem goalkeeper. Not the best but decent enough.
Id prefer someone with the attitude of green over cesar all day long. Unfortunately in my view we just got to take a hit with cesar and pay him off. Hes not worth having around the club. People like green are worth investing in.

Green will be our keeper next season, no doubt about that

He joined us before salad, for the RIGHT reasons, he wanted to play and be part of something

Salad joined us for dough, no other reason

Not trying to sound busy but why do people call Cesar 'salad'?

I know there is a caesar salad, but not a cesar salad. There is a Green salad though

Massive props to Greeno who proved himself with a massive performance in a massive match.

That said, we can't afford to pay a reserve keeper the kind of money we are paying Cesar and Greeno. One of them has to go. Personally, after Sat I hope we can shift Cesar but I have a feeling we are stuck with him because nobody in their right mind will pay him even half of what we are reportedly paying him. Which isn't all bad as I do rate him too.

Green deserves the chance without a doubt, but he's the archetypal confidence player and seems to get on bad runs of form, so need to sign a decent young back up who can challenge for the place and be trusted if we needed to come in.

Realistically though will Green even talk to us about a new contract while Ceaser is a QPR player?

When you have a keeper on £60k pw that you cannot sell; why would you give an out of contract keeper another contract, when the club is in a lot of debt?

Until Ceaser is not a QPR player we cannot financially justify giving Greeno a new contract.

If we can sell Ceaser, I would be glad to see Greeno as our #1

Not Cesar's fault Hughes offered him that deal, and ended up on the bench.

Sure you would have ripped their hand off if it was you offered that contract.

                      Not for me.

Both decent keepers with flaws. Not arguing that Cesar is pony, because he is not - he is a fantastic shot shopper that was superb for us last January. However, his commanding of an area is pony. For me, though, it's not the ability that I wouldn't pick him on. Picking him over Green would totally go against everything we have built up this year.

Cesar was quite openly a money grabber, had the opportunity to leave but was happy to sit in our reserves picking up his wages. If he were to come strolling back into the team now after the season Green has had, during which we have seemingly built a great team unity which Green is a pivotal part of, what sort of message does that send out?

                          So is Rooney,Toure,Sagna,Falcao etc.....

Don't understand the hostility towards him when 99% of footballers only care about money these days.

Difference is they play week in week out.

All footballers are money grabbers to an extent, but there's a difference between being paid an extortionate wage (as all footballers get) & playing every week and being paid an extortionate wage, not plying your trade, getting the chance to ply your trade elsewhere (on slightly less ridiculous wages) and being happy to sit and waste your career.

Fair play he can do that, our club gave him the contract, but for me just shows him to be a w-anchor.

Carlo Cudicini made it an art form and he was a quality keeper.

Footballs a job,no different to what me and you do every day.Just they get paid in a week what it takes me 3 years to earn, and Rooney's wage would take me 15 years to earn what he gets in a week.

But i don't begrudge them a penny as i would take the fattest wage, even if it meant not playing. It's not like we go into work everyday and give 100%.I am sure many of us cheat many a days wage.
