  • Tony on Bobby

"We'd come so far I just felt that the fairytale would end today in a positive way and who better than Bobby Zamora, who's had so much stick from the fans and everyone, and I kept texting him every day saying 'believe in yourself, believe in yourself!!' and he replied saying 'I want to play, I want to play, I want to play!!' and today he showed what he's made of."

All very romantic but not good enough or fit enough to keep.

Not romantic - he hasn't been fully fit since he joined the club......until January when he's proved his worth and we've seen the real Bobby ever since, especially the last few impact sub appearances.

Disagree, does some damage when he's fit, and finally seems to be fit. Wish they gave him his op sooner gets too much unfair stick

And is hardly gonna get better.

Football in the prem is a cutthroat business, both for managers and players. No room for sentiment.

For the sake of the importance of the goal he scored, I will give him another year extension. If it was not for his goal, we will still be playing championship football next season.

Have to say he is worth a 1 yr contract....brings a different dimension to the attack

All the Furlong/Helguson-type abuse from fans hasn't exactly helped his confidence much either.

Very true. Fans in general are far too quick to get on players backs IMO.

But just look how he's repaid that now with his £134 million winning goal for the club.

I think there is room for sentiment in the PL. We made the mistake of being cut-throat last time. We pretty much overhauled our promotion-winning team. got rid of the soul of the club. Hell evn Clint was shipped out to Forest at one stage.
we need sentiment, we need heart, we need players with a passion for the badge.

I don't want to see another 15+ changes in the summer. keep bobby. he's been so strong for the past few months. deserves it.

You dont say, its because emotions are running high and after a defeat they need to vent there spleen on someone, theres always a pantomime villain at a club, Zamora must have been ecstatic when Carroll came in on loan

I've long been a fan of the Z Man, and before the game was predicting he would be the key to us winning (no ******** here honest!). He deserves a 1 year deal IMO, though not at 70k per week.
