  • Warnock recommends QPR to Rio

“I’ve always said to him QPR would be a good club [for him]. He wouldn’t mind going back to London, there’s a lot going for the club at the moment.

Rio would be a super signing for QPR. They need someone of that class. He’s still got a few things to prove.

He’s not in peak condition and couldn’t get into the top five or six clubs in the Premier League. If you pick any of the other clubs though, you can’t tell me he’s not better than most of the centre-backs in the bottom half of the league.

He’s got the hunger to play on. He’s not decided to go to America to pick up the money."

He told him this when working together at BTSport.

I dont think rio would come to QPR on big wages. I believe we have leanrt our lessons there. My worry is his back injury. Would hate to sign a player on big wages again to see him on the sidelines all year.

Believe it or not of all the old names being bandied about I'd have Rio for a season all day long.

if he's a one off signing i'd take him tbh as long as our other signings arent of the same suit and he starts with nedum and not dunne
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

Depends on how much he would want wages wise. I wouldn't break the bank for him, but i'd take him for a year.

Different class when fit and can read the game. A million times better than hill and dunne. But his age, his wage, his hunger, can all be questioned. Also wern't he the leader of the Moyes revolt at OT?

Age with C/Backs not so much an issue, Nelson, Dunne, and Hill same sort of age but not in Rios class though.

Two season ago I thought he controlled the game at loftus rd.

Seemed like it, wasn't exactly shy about tweeting subtle digs during moyes' last couple of weeks

One of the best footballing centre half's we have produced in this country , as long as the salary wasn't ridiculous and he was back to fitness , yes

Moyes apparently told him that he should learn from Phil Jagielka ffs

Not surprising that he wasn't well disposed towards him after that

FWIW I wouldn't be devastated if he came to us, but wouldn't want us to go out of the way with big wage offers to get him.

Still think he could do a job and would go a long way to keeping us up, but I think there are better and younger and cheaper (wage wise) than Rio. Wouldnt mind a cheeky bid for Micah Richards.

Trouble is would he want to come BACK to us after last time.

I once heard we released him when he was a youth player after not considering him good enough!!

                              Or maybe I heard wrongly.

Would be a good signing if we did go for him though.
