As long as we dont see 3, 4 or 5 of the oldies turn up then 1 or two might not be a bad thing as we are losing alot of players in the summer and they could offer us something and provsing the majority of the players we bring in are in the ilk of the younger route we mentioned then we should be in good shape.

fao and just putting random names together here if we brought in the following to add to the 10 - 14 players we retain this year then I think we'd have a great mix of youth and experience.

Id have him all day long mate, he'd have the right attitude, be great for the youngsters to have him around. Would p*** off scum fans and as you said would bank goals for us. Very useful squad player. Put players with legs around him and would be a great addition.

Ashley Cole - are you telling me you don't think he would make most squads better? Only reason he would come to us is if he doesn't want to travel far!

The key is npot too many old/slow players.

Dunne and Hill are slow, but have played well. against the top players they are simply too slow.

cole is still fast. I wouldn't mind Joe Cole either, but that is not where we are really weakest....though cretaivity would be nice!

I know they are getting on a bit, but come on people, would you really be upset with the prospect of signing a player like Frank Lampard? Yes, hes been Chelsea for years, but imo he still has a couple of years left in him and he is a world class midfielder.

Fat Frank, Cashley and Rio are the 3 experience players I would add. Retain the core of this season, add some youth and I guarantee a top 10 finish!

So from memory here are 3 young striker the club has been publically connected with - the young icelandic striker at Ajax for example Harry watched and talked to in January, the young striker at Bournemouth Harry said the club should have signed after the game there, and the big forward lad from Tottenham youth team the club tried to bring in last window - I cant remember their names right but you can look em up - makes more sense to me to consider them rather than some twitter/newspaper waffle.

I expect there will be some experienced quality signings also to keep a good balance and positive vibe and I am quite optimistic about the summer dealings because since Hughes left the club have hardly put a foot wrong in the transfer market.
