Harry love him as well and him, charlie, simpson all seem to be massive players behind the scenes at the club. Its great to have this team unity there now.
not a bad team at all norths and prob wouldnt require that much of a investment. Can I ask why you'd keep hoilett, what does he bring to the team? He'd be the only one in there id be disappointed to see.

Did you watch the final? Was our only real outlet and think he's had good form passed 6-8 weeks, needs a goal or 2 for confidence but would defo keep him
this will sound strange but my problem with hoilett is that I actually think he could be a decent player but just fails to deliver. I have seen him play so many times and he frustrates me immensely. His inabillity to pass or cross the ball at the right time costs us so many times. On many occassions we have been in a good positions when hes had the ball but he gives the ball away and all of a sudden we are being countered. Next year we cant afford to let that happen.
Id disagree about the final, again wont fault the effort of any players but hoilett one again had no end product. So frustrating as we all know he can go pass player with relative ease but the best players know when to release the ball.
He struggled in the championship and wouldnt rely on him in the prem....been very poor all year.
Surprised so many people picking Barton. For me not good enough for the prem, very good championship player though.
Yeah, this. I think I'd keep him as he's clearly very important to team spirit right now, something we completely neglected last time round. But if we're going to stay up he may well be a bit of a passenger in CM.
Expect WATRBs to suddenly turn on Barton sometime next autumn when we go on our first really bad run. He's suddenly not trying, they'll say, he's spending too much time tweeting, why doesn't he care anymore? Why can't he play like he did last season?
And the answer will be obvious, but will still fly miles above most peoples' heads: we'll be in a better division. Barton looks great against the Shaun Derry's of this word, and terrible against the Yaya Toures. He wasn't half as bad or as lazy as people made him out to be in the PL, and he wasn't half as good as people thought he was in the Champ.
The key variable is opposition quality, not his own effort.
and re the OP, your idea of a "not overly expensive" starting 11 for a newly promoted side includes two players who have spent most of their careers winning trophies and earning £100k+ per week?
