Its amazing isn't it , at the time i thought it was a really rash choice , more than 30 mins to go with 10 men on a very big pitch , we were already looking susceptible to derbys pace , and even though he was through on goal he still had to finish , and even then i would have taken 1-0 down and kept 11 on the pitch, but the way it paned out it was the right choice, can you imagine what stick he would have got if the Rs lost? IF massive word in football

The man saved our season, with Hill as the last man it would have surely been a penalty or he'd have got skinned. Zamora will get headlines, O'Neill saved our season IMO.
It allowed us to park the bus and bide our time for an opening. Derby wouldn't have scored in a month of Sundays IMO after O'Neill see red (though it obviously never felt like that at the time). Upon reflection all they had was half chances all match.
We're we really that lucky or have we been parking the bus all season and nicking late winners I ask you? I've hated the football this season but there's no denying its effectiveness. In someways it has felt line watching the footballing equivalent of moneyball this season (if that analogy makes sense)
So for me Gary O'Neill is my hero from yesterday , he took a calculative risk and it paid off. The script was written and unforgettable scenes followed ....

I just wonder what the reaction would have been like to O'Neill if we'd lost. Personally I'd say the tackle had to be made all day long.
