I don't think Zamora deserves it really. It was a important goal no doubt, but I don't think any single goal earns him a new contract. Most of the time he's been here he's been cr*p. Faurlin too injury-prone, maybe give O'Neil another year though.

based on the last couple of months, i'd say he's earned a 1 year contract as an impact sub.

Would take a chance on LB with Yun/Traore/BAE/Hill. Backup RB is a concern but Hughes/Onuoha would have to cover, if right player was available would buy. Flexible on number of new strikers if right player became available.

this really... if he stays, zamora would need to accept a hefty pay cut - he's getting first pick striker wages at the moment, this needs to become occasional sub money.

we really need a left back - hill should alternate with dunne in central defence, traore isn't so great defensively and yun is still developing.

i reckon granero will come back to us and this could develop a decent partnership with barton (assuming he sticks around)

ooops... forgot to say that traore also deserves a new contract (but again, at sensible wages).

I wouldn't call him injury prone. I mean, it has only been 2 injuries to be fair.

errr are you joking??? the blokes hardly played for us the last two years because hes always injured? we pay him somewhere between 30-40 k a week, its hardly sustainable.
Zamora will always be a legend now and will love him always for what he gave us yesterday but we have some big decisions to make in the next few weeks and I already think some people are letting their hearts rule their head atm and thats understandable after yesterday.

Zamora on a small basic and bumped up with incentives for goals and playing time makes sense for another year.

Mate I agree with what your saying 100 % but also realistically we are going to need more than 4 or 5 signings.....We are back in the prem and sentiment needs to be put aside .Benaryou has hardly featured, money could be spent elsewhere bringing in a pacey winger whos young. I would say a choice will need to be made between zamora and doyle, personally think doyle would be a pointless signing in the prem.

I know we need to probably sign squad players too but getting a whole new team would be going down the same road we went last time under Hughes and I don't think we can afford to make a mistake like that again.

Yes Doyle and Zamora wouldn't cut it in PL but we're talking as back up here and would go for Zammora out of the two. If we keep hold of Remy it would be a massive help.

Seems harsh after promotion to not want so many players back but of we look at most of them sensibly and not emotionally, most of them have been injured for long periods of time or havent wanted to stay and fight for the club. We cant afford to carry the like jonson, jenas, young ect (Zuloup I cant believe you put to keep young???was that a mistake??).

Ned congratulates Zamora and says how he deserves it in his last game. not sure how much to read into it but maybe the decision has already been made. if so, think its for the best, the last few games is the first time people have praised him since he arrived over 2 years ago. I remember points he was booed at home and was non existent in games, mainly due to his fitness and think he is too injury prone to be given a new contract. There is no place for sentiment or nostalgia when handing out contracts, decisions need to be made for the best for QPR.

Totally agree, the right ******* side of me says get rid of all of them, even the likes of Green, paying 50 grand plus a week has to stop,as much as a few like Green are worth keeping I would offer 25 k tops, sentiment has to go out the window however tough that may look.

If players like green and zamora want to stay then we need to be in the driving seat this time when it comes to contract. We have a great chance to renegotiate their deals to suit us and not them. Great thing is we dont need to panic about it or worry as we have the whole summer to do our shopping and there are plenty of decent options out there if they dont sign on.
If we offered zamora 10 k a week basic plus a further 10 k a week when he plays, is he going to get better at many other clubs? Yet we reduce his package by 30/40 k. Same for green like you said 50 k just too much. Offer him a 2 year deal on half that - if he doesnt want to know im sure the reading keeper would jump to play for a prem club for less then that.
We just got to remeber we control the cards this time.
