We need consistency!!! We need a core group!!! No more wholesale changes to the team!! We can't buy a new team yet again!!!
Only a few quality additions is the way to go. We need to keep the spirit, the togetherness and bonds that have formed. This group of players has been through a lot and we need them to carry this onto next season.
Stay:
Bobby Zamora (backup to Charlie)
Green
Faurlin (back up, monitor fitness/injuries)
Hill
O'neil (back up)
Hughes (versatile back four back up, 1 year)
Doyle (buy as backup)
Morrison (buy if possible)
Krancjar (buy)
Yossi (offer cheap contract)
Dellatorre (why so keen to get rid of him? Thought he was bought with the future in mind. He's in the EDS and would monitor his progress further)
Go:
BAE (in two minds inclined to let him go but can offer cheap contract and interchange with Yun)
Carroll (in two minds too, would offer him a deal if Faurlin and Jenas are let go, probably going back to Spurs)
Park
M'Bia (his contracts finished anyway, would actually offer him one year one if he wanted to come back)
Jenas (depending on the Faurlin situation he could be back up)
Hogan
SWP
Maiga
Keane
Johnson (A shame about his injuries, I think he can still offer something but we ain't seen him for a while. Just doesn't make the cut I guess)
Would add new:
1 quality CB to pair up with Ned.
1 quality winger to interchange with Hoilet/Traore/Matt Philips.
1 quality forward to pair up or interchange with Austin
1 quality CDM to pair up with Barton
1 quality versatile CM (depending on who stays/goes hopefully someone that can attack as well do a job as CDM)
Would take a chance on LB with Yun/Traore/BAE/Hill. Backup RB is a concern but Hughes/Onuoha would have to cover, if right player was available would buy. Flexible on number of new strikers if right player became available.

we really need a left back - hill should alternate with dunne in central defence, traore isn't so great defensively and yun is still developing.
i reckon granero will come back to us and this could develop a decent partnership with barton (assuming he sticks around)

Zamora will always be a legend now and will love him always for what he gave us yesterday but we have some big decisions to make in the next few weeks and I already think some people are letting their hearts rule their head atm and thats understandable after yesterday.
Zamora on a small basic and bumped up with incentives for goals and playing time makes sense for another year.

We need 4 or 5 quality signings to complete our first team, but we will need a further 4 or 5 more on top of that to complete out squad.

Bobby Z - pay as u play
Morrison - do what we can to grab him. He needs a club like us before he gets a big move…
Faurlin - must keep, should be starting when everyone's fit.
Green - keep but get another keeper in. Fabianski would be ideal.
Dunne - he's got an extension right? keep but he CANNOT be near the starting 11.
Hill - same as Dunne.
Kranjcar - extend his loan.
BAE - maybe.
would take Granero/Mbia back if we can't get decent dollar for them. I expect Mbia will move on though.
Jenas Oniell Doyle etc. just aint good enough for the prem now, it's best we part ways

I would say a choice will need to be made between zamora and doyle, personally think doyle would be a pointless signing in the prem.

Yes Doyle and Zamora wouldn't cut it in PL but we're talking as back up here and would go for Zammora out of the two. If we keep hold of Remy it would be a massive help.Last edited by fisnik; 25-05-2014, 08:17 PM.

Seems harsh after promotion to not want so many players back but of we look at most of them sensibly and not emotionally, most of them have been injured for long periods of time or havent wanted to stay and fight for the club. We cant afford to carry the like jonson, jenas, young ect (Zuloup I cant believe you put to keep young???was that a mistake??).

Estimate of what each of them are on and how much the club is likely to save per week:
Likely to stay
Green --- 30-40
Faurlin --- 30-40
Hill --- 15-20
O'neil ---- 15-20
Likely to go
Zamora ---- 50-60
Young ------30-40
Yossi -------10-20
Park ---------50-60
M'Bia-------- 40-50
Jenas --------25-35
Hughes ------10-20
Hogan--------10-15
SWP --------50-60
Johnson -------30-40
So that's about 300k minimum per week off the wage bill right there
Loans (no idea of what % the club is paying of each wage so will leave it blank)
Morrison
Doyle
Keane
Maiga
Dellatore
Carroll
BAE
Krancjar

Has anyone seen the players interviews on the pitch after the game? Ned congratulates Zamora and says how he deserves it in his last game. not sure how much to read into it but maybe the decision has already been made. if so, think its for the best, the last few games is the first time people have praised him since he arrived over 2 years ago. I remember points he was booed at home and was non existent in games, mainly due to his fitness and think he is too injury prone to be given a new contract. There is no place for sentiment or nostalgia when handing out contracts, decisions need to be made for the best for QPR.

Originally posted by Romford Hoop View PostTotally agree, the right ******* side of me says get rid of all of them, even the likes of Green, paying 50 grand plus a week has to stop,as much as a few like Green are worth keeping I would offer 25 k tops, sentiment has to go out the window however tough that may look.
If we offered zamora 10 k a week basic plus a further 10 k a week when he plays, is he going to get better at many other clubs? Yet we reduce his package by 30/40 k. Same for green like you said 50 k just too much. Offer him a 2 year deal on half that - if he doesnt want to know im sure the reading keeper would jump to play for a prem club for less then that.
We just got to remeber we control the cards this time.
