  • One minor point regarding Flaviogate

He is actually not the chairman of our football club.

That person is still listed as Gianni Paladini Chairman Queens Park Rangers Football Club.

Flavio is the Chairman of QPR holdings I believe.

I cant understand why so many of our fans want to see the guy who pumped millions in and got us out of a big financial hole quit.

If anything we should be supporting the bloke.

Either which way I hope that there is a conclusion to this quickly in the best interests of our football club.

Funky, sorry mate... but for the 100th time....

It doesn't matter if he's not officially listed as Chairman of QPR.
Football League rules state "Any shareholder or director must be removed if they are banned by a recognised sport's governing body."

      Amit is the other chairman.

Flavio is major shareholder, but still cannot see how it breaks the leagues "proper and fit person test".

He resigned from renault and surely they will hev an appeals process?

The wording is such that he would fail if he was 'banned from the administration of the sport' - that may well be vague enough to leave a hole to drive a bus through!

What has he been banned for then??
Wearing silly glasses? Having floppy man-#####??

Maybe... because he was found guilty of instructing his driver to deliberately crash, And Renault pleaded guilty to it all??
                  Crazy theory, I know.

"The World Motor Sport Council finds that Renault F1 team members Flavio Briatore, Pat Symonds and Nelson Piquet Jr. conspired to cause a deliberate crash at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix. The World Motor Sport Council therefore finds Renault F1, which, under article 123 of the International Sporting Code, is responsible for the actions of its employees, in breach of Articles 151(c) and point 2(c) of Chapter IV of Appendix L of the Code, and Articles 3.2, 30.3 and/or 39.1 of the Formula One Sporting Regulations. GUILTY and BANNED.....

Pete , Renault are not going to appeal, they offered no defence they have accepted that they were bang to rights. the FIA have accepted that Renault acted to remove the actual perpetrator and so have been give leniancy. Briatore however has been indefinately banned from anything to do with the sport and licences will be taken away from anyone who has anything to do with him in the sport. He has been banned by the FIA from having any link or association with Formula 1. If their is to be any appeal it will have to come from Briatore himself and I don't see that happening

Under Football League rules, any director or investor who owns more than 30 per cent of the club has to pass a fit-and-proper person test.

The following points prohibit a party from being involved with a Football League club:

                          * Anyone subject to a ban from a sports governing body relating to the administration of that sport.

                          * Anyone with an unspent conviction relating to fraud or dishonesty.

                          * Anyone disqualified from acting as a director of a UK registered company.

                          * Anyone currently subject to a bankruptcy order.

                          * Anyone who has been a director of a club that has been in administration twice during a five-year period or a director of two different clubs that have each gone into administration in a five-year period.

He has obviously, previously passed the first highlighted bit above.(Can this now be reviewed by the FA/FL?)

It's the 2nd highlighted bit that could be what gets him kicked out of football.

shamie, if he can convince all parties to stay with him, then I think thats the loophole

He can sell some of his shares?? maybe and have say 29%??

Could be similar to the Southampton administration case. Where the holding company was deemed to still be the same entity as the football club and punishment stood?

If FB is listed as a director of the holding company rather than the football club, in the eyes of the FL, wouldn't make a bit of difference?

I'd still question the legality of any FL ruling that potentially remove FB from QPR "IF" it could harm his PERSONAL finances. I'm sure a referral to CAS would be in the offing.

FB said he wouldn't appeal in any case re FIA action.
