Played football every Sunday with the chaps from the western-top lads. Some other gaff now by all accounts. Cowshead was a nice sunday morning stop off-a few prawns before the session.

I never was that bothered with the KPH back in the day but when everywhere else went i realised what a proper boozer it was . Brendan was a top landlord!! Used to use the Elgin the most late 80's / 90's . Used to have to get a key for the khazi as unsporting activities used to take place! Proper grove characters then!! Only food served was cheese and ham sarnies..

Elgin was another lively gaff-often popped in for a night. Done a raid on it one night from the back of a artic-caught on film. Anything went but you had to be local.

Remember a barman in the Elgin wasn't exactly a poster boy for the anti -drug campaign they were running .. Red bulbous eyes and heavily scarred protruding veins on his arms ..
