Why when the team has just reached a Wembley final with a chance of promotion and everyone on a high.... would you start a thread about an individual player who has not played for QPR this season and who 99.9% of the fans don't care about or ever want to see play for the club again?
Obviously, because TF gave the interview immediately after the game, and it made sports headlines in Korea. There are plenty of other threads to read and discuss. Just avoid the Park-related threads if you would rather not read about such news when they are published.

I did not start the thread, and only replied to provide correct information on some misconceptions. Bon started the thread today because it made the news today and he was the first to read it. As simple as that.

We must have some Irish fans who can tell us what brand of toilet paper Richard Dunne prefers or maybe someone from Senegal who could tell us what Armand Traores favourite breakfast cereal is?

its not tony's decision as per the fans foum, when PB and TF said these decisions are made by a purely football based committee and the board are not involved...we'll see what is the truth in time...
personally don't see what park can do for us...unless you can attain points from having the player who fell over the most times in a match

No one contracted to us who hasn't helped us go up should we go up should ever play for us again. As I say: bin this thread.

He missed a chance to score the winner at home to Chelsea early in the season and it seemed to be all downhill from there, he did have a good match at Southampton and set up the winner but that was it! I don't mind the bloke but it just never worked out for him here! I am excited about Yun, he's gonna be a good one in the future, maybe the near future at Wembley!

TF's interview got my hopes up, but I guess it is not to be. TF obviously wanted Park to return for one last season to fulfill his extended contract, but now that Park has officially announced his retirement, his remaining contractual obligations would just be taken care of behind the scenes. Park's retirement officially ends his relationship with QPR, so I probably will not discuss him anymore on the forum (unless someone manages to draw a reaction out of me). There is, however, one last thing that I need to say about the matter.

Most fans of Park strongly preferred that he retire or spend another season at PSV rather than return to QPR, regardless of promotion, because PSV, his first European club, seemed to be a fitting place to finish his career.

I felt differently. I wanted Park to return to QPR for one last season because I felt that he would make a significant contribution to the team. I wanted Park to make the impact at QPR that he was unable to make last season, and retire after having done so, because as a fan of QPR I want the team to do well next season, and I wanted Park to be one of the players who contributed to its success, because I am also a fan of the player. Park's performance at PSV this season proved how important and central he could still be, and I wanted him to do for QPR what he did for PSV.

I must admit that I was being too optimistic about the condition of Park's knee, which has been a hot topic on Dutch and Korean newspapers for many months. The signs were all there.. declining the Korean national football team's request for him to come out of retirement, not to mention the numerous articles discussing his knee and retirement, marriage, etc. I guess Park also wanted to be optimistic, based on some of his interviews in past months, but the season is over and reality must have settled in, and he must have concluded that whether it is the EPL or Championship, his knee would not be able to handle another full season. I am a bit disappointed about it, but it's just the end of the line for Park.

I think. T,F was lying or telling us some of his personal hope then.

I wonder not being named in the World Cup squad made his decision easier.

This is the Tony Fernandes interview that he supposedly gave yesterday, after the victory over Wigan? I'm sorry Joon, but no such interview exists- you've been misled by the Korean press.

Do you seriously believe this man took time away from his celebrations, to sneak away and give an interview to a lone Korean reporter about Park's future? An interview not picked up by any of the British press? It must've been in the one quiet/uninhabited part of Loftus Road that night. A toilet cubicle maybe?

Apart from his radio interview this morning, Fernandes hasn't spoken to anybody whatsoever ( skip to 19:45 http://talksport.com/alan-brazil-spo...13-14051390984) .

Don't you think it would be amazingly 'convenient', for a Korean newspaper to somehow pick up on this incredible news that nobody else in the world managed to get?
