  • So who are wigans danger men and how do they normally set up?

Of the top of my head -

    Mcarthy
    Mclean
    gomez
    powell

Who else do they have that we need to worry about - I cant remeber who they normally play up to and what formation they tend to play

Its win at all costs for me in these games and that McManaman is a bit of a headcase so I would wind him up big time if I was on the pitch get him to react sent off and out the second leg

McClean is a massive threat. At LR he just sat on the shoulder of Hill and waited for a ball through, absolutely lightning!

Yep. Also that Powell looks a class act, big future ahead of him I reckon.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

That's what I mean about McLean maybe that's why he might go yun left back so can handle his pace otherwise hill will be on toast

It's a risk pushing up too much with Clint & co against anyone with a turn of foot, we may have to stay deepish. Play that way and you need pace for the counter, bit of conundrum....

Powell hasn't been that good for Wigan since getting injured around Christmas and I doubt he'll even start tomorrow. He does have it in his locker though.

I'm not particularly worried about Gomez, it's McManaman and McClean that scare me. They both posses bags of pace and can go past players with ease. Also Shaun Maloney is back from injury and can hurt us.

Let's worry about ourselves though, if we defend solidly and do the simple things then nothing to worry about.
