  • Tom Carroll

Someone please, please enlighten me as to why he is so highly regarded by Redknapp? One of the most infuriating players of the season. Absolutely no physical presence, no vision on the ball and an embarrassing reluctance to get stuck in. At times it's like watching a 12 year-old run around aimlessly in the centre of the pitch. One moment yesterday summed him up: receives the ball in a decent position on the left flank and then slices it into the stand like a Sunday League player. He is just shocking. Start him in the play-offs and we'll just get overrun in midfield. What on earth does the old toad see in him? Could it be a dodgy 'arrangement' with Spurs I wonder? I just can't understand how he is the first name on the team sheet every week.

Hopefully Jenas will be fit and able to start beside Barton in the play offs!

Nothing more to add to that you express my own views

Going into the play offs my major concern is will Rednapps loyalties to certain players be our undoing in the playoffs???? I fear it could be as he will find a way to fit Dunne, BAE and Carroll into the side i.e. I have no doubt if its a toss up for back two between Dunne, Hill and Nedum he will drop Nedum to keep Dunne in the 11

Any knób could do his job, passes 5 yards sideways.

Not a huge difference between him and any other of our midfielders.

Certainly not enough to warrant the abuse he gets.

Last year everyone was slating Granero and Mbia for not passing and now everyone's hammering Carroll for actually passing, he can't win!

Some will argue but I agree with you. If any one of us trained every single day and got our fitness levels up we could all comfortable more or less stay in the centre circle get the ball and pass it backwards

He was his shocking worst yesterday; he does so much wrong its hard to keep track. My mate came yesterday to his first game this season (not QPR) and he asked whose the lad in the middle he don't do anything other then lose the ball and jump out of tackles I responded 'apparently he is the future of English football'

I actually think Granero would be magic in this side as he could play the role Carroll is supposed to be playing but properly

What is most irritating about him, other than the constant misplaced passes, is his habit of slowing every attacking move down. There was one moment yesterday in the second half when he received the ball in space on the right-hand side with Austin and Morrison charging forward. What did he do? Yep, turned round and passed it sideways. I know he's young but I really do ****ing hate the way he plays.

I know exact time your talking about I went berserk. Two options of putting the ball over the top and it was two on one but he played safe and that's his problem. He also has an uncanny nack of letting players run straight past him without making any real effort to stay with them

That's the way we play as a team. All season. Percentage football rather than risky passes. It's why our stats nearly always show us with high possession and low shots.

I still maintain that Tom Carroll (and I admit he has not been as good as I'd hoped he would be) gets a disproportionate amount of stick compared to other midfielders.

Just my opinion, and will be irrelevant in a few games when he goes back to Spurs. I still think he'll carve out a very good career.
