Right Sort V Mercenaries

Was pondering today at work about how last season went in comparison to this. Yes were in a better league position but since January is there an awful lot of difference in effort between what Harry has coined the 'Right Sort' and what us the fans classed last season 'Mercenaries'

I have to say I think we would have got just as much effort out of Mbia in comparison to a Carroll and I got panned few months back for suggesting we should have hung onto Cisse for this league!!! do you think he would have been a better bet then Keane or Maiga???

Yes the players let us down last season big style but Harry bought himself extra time with his 'right sort' quote which we the fans bought into because we turned against last seasons squad so we were hearing from harry what we had been thinking.

Seeing how poor we have been this season, even when we were winning, and in particular since January perhaps they were not the wrong sort perhaps it was a matter of wrong manager/managers

Its obvious there was a few that needed to be shifted out.
The key ones were for me Cesar, Ferdinand and Park.
Would take Mbia back as he showed effort at least when called upon!!!

There was a difference between those who didn't give a fark and those who were simply overwhelmed by the crapness of last season.

I actually quite liked Granero and Mbia for instance and think had we not had the level of upheaval we did and had tried integrating them into a more settled side they could have worked quite well. Granero started well but then seemed to drown. Mbia played well at times but was headless chicken as well other times.

The main problem for me was 'Arry and his selections and tactics. We plummeted after a reasonable January that had got us within a sniff of getting out of the relegation zone. There was no selection or tactical consistency and players looked increasingly unmotivated. To me that was more a managerial issue. Not much has changed this season, we just get away with it due to playing in a poorer league.
