Brentford fans on Saturday were singing...........
westie you young rapscallion you....education must come first....just look at me
my mate who can't throw a sentence together and rarely went to school, managed via Hammersmith Council, to become a spark, some weeks , not often I'd admit, is getting £1,500 a week, no bull
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

Being an academic certainly aint the be all & end all. Good pal of mine was thick as 2 short planks at school, literally in the bottom set for most things. He now works as a ship broker up town and picks up serious wedge with regular 5 figure bonuses (without including the decimal point n all).
That said, I am a firm believer in making the most of your education & thus maximising your opportunities in life.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
agree wholeheartedly with you Matty, but some are just not cut out for education and are more handy with their hands (no innuendo intended)
Yea mate you aint wrong there. Think I had a similar discussion on the general chat section before, but (despite being at Uni myself) I don't think there is enough emphasis on encouraging young people to learn a trade. Most of me mates at school were always going to be tradesmen and certainly weren't academics, yet there seemed to be this overall drive to push everybody into further education, regardless of what the individual was like. People that are likely to be tradesmen and want to go and learn a trade should, IMO anyway, be given day release to start learning the basics in the last year or so of school rather than have physics & biology forced down their throats.

Be interesting to see how Brentford evolve, a club with a generally poor attendance moving into a new stadium 2016/17 that is more than double their present attendance in an area that is being heavily developed residentially, sounds familiar
49 years and counting that's the last time Brentford turned us over 1965 I beleive? some will have been waiting a long time? lets make it 50 years and counting
Got a Fulham fan in the office who seems to think Brentford hate Fulham more than anyone else?.. 1st I've heard of it.. can anyone shed some light?
Didn't think anyone really hated Fulham.. There just that family club down by the river, who have a neutral end instead of away end
I would prob say thats right and it goes back to the two of them slumming it in the lower leagues together for 90% of their history whilst us and Chelsea played more or less in the top two divisions
I get the feeling however, that like Fulham, they will hate whoever is in the league with them i.e. their getting excited about us next season but if we went up and Fulham down they would be getting excited about them. Their hearts would break if we went up and Fulham stopped up

Ahhh that would explain it then, as I am a fair bit younger than the 65 year old Fulham fan in the office
had potential big support 40 odd years ago, but their fan-base, Hounslow, Feltham etc. has largely been replaced by new arrivals. Broke a former workmates heart when his son chose the bumbles over his beloved r's though
