  • QPR boss Harry Redknapp regrets not making move for Lewis Grabban of Bournemouth....

"He's done well. When he looked like going to Brighton we should have snapped him up because he had a buy-out clause," Redknapp said in the Daily Mirror.

"He's full of energy, he runs behind people, stretches people. He's done great, he's a good player. I've been impressed with him.

That's been our problem all season, We have a lot of play, but where's the goal going to come from? Who's going to score?

People who score goals, score goals, people who don't score, never score. That's how football is. We are short of goals when Charlie Austin is out of the team."

Glad he rates him so highly, so why didnt he make a move? He knew how long Austin would be out for. Why did he even wait for Austin to get injured if he knew we were short of goals when charlie is out of the team?

So is this Harry admitting he got something wrong or is this another blame shift, this time towards the board.

Why with Redknapp is everything so similar in terms of what he says in the media and the excuses he makes..
You can almost tell exactly what he is going to say before he answers a question

He is a Pro at shifting blame and keeping the spotlight off him

Redknapp could and should have signed another striker a long time ago.
The loan window was open from early September through to mid December, and he cold have signed a striker on loan until making it permanent in Jan (like they did with Buzsaky).

He could also have signed Grabban or Wells in early January to take the pressure off Austin, but he didn't. Instead he waited until Austin was injured and then panicked and signed Doyle (who I think is ok, shame he got injured too), Maiga, who was always a risk having failed miserably at West Ham. As if that wasn;t bad enough, he signed Keane (why why why) and Dellatore, again why, given that he isn't even getting a chance to sit on the bench.

Redknapp could be honest enough to admit that he has got it wrong this season, but instead is likely to make excuses that he wanted to sign another striker, but the Board wouldnt let him buy one.

Bournemouth, West Ham and perhaps Portsmouth and Spurs fans like him as he did a good job with them, but Southampton fans hate him and soon many QPR fans will do too. He clearly has a bond with the 1st four clubs due to his playing career (West Ham), residence (Bournemouth & Portsmouth) and childhood support of Spurs, but Southampton and QPR are just employers to him, who happen to pay well.

So he's just admitted our problem all season was having loads of possession but not scoring goals, and then signed players who 'don't score' in Jan.

            Silly old pr!ck.

Every time he opens his mouth now the man annoys me. And I was a fan. Can't wait till his reign is over in all honesty.

I'm getting to this stage . Watching him sitting with his hands in his pockets and moaning to his coaching team whilst doing Absolutly nothing really really pisses me off

Looked lively saturday thats for sure.

Bournemouth paid 300k for him according to wiki, not a bad fee at all.

He does no more than Hughseless did on the touch line & he used to get hammered for that.

Earlier in the season he was sitting down on bench alot but that was due to his knee. Last few weeks he has been on the side of the touchline looking a little bit perplexed with what is going on

Statement looks like a 'i have been given no money to improve the squad and could only get in loans' dig to me.
