Those short corners we were constantly taking, and to no avail whatsoever, what the fark was going through the players minds, apart from fresh air and little else, of course.
So please remind me how many goals we have scored from long corners this season? None?
Can only remember the one; Doyle's debut goal.
Short corners & pathetic, they end up whipping the ball over anyway but instead of it being an unchallenged cross it's done under the pressure of 2 oncoming defenders.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Doyle's goal, yes. Probably the only one.
Think Barcelona always take short corners. Did you see Bayer Munchen's corners. Think they were fine.
Good to have short corners once or while, you have a good chance to get 2vs1 situation. Didn't work yesterday, maybe we did not train them enough. But it was a tactical change!

Dunne V Burnley top corner. The prob is doc the short corner is not once in a while its all the time and from memory nothing has ever come from it

The very minor detail being that Barcelona & Bayern have the ability to execute such corners. We, on the other hand, don't - as was evident yesterday.

Barcelona often only have Pique and occasionally Puyol to aim at which uis why they take short corners.
QPR have players who can head the ball like Dunne, Hill, (Austin Onouha Zamora when they have been fit) so a cross into the box is a good way to take a corner if the delivery is good.
It also helps to practice these in training, but given the lack of goals scored and how many QPR concede, I guess cornners are
not.
If a corner is placed in the right spot in the box and the attacking player gets his head on it its almost impossible to stop unless its straight at someone. Look at Saturdays goal, perfect delivery Green showing no interest in the punch and it lands on their players head and its a goal
As Stan says practice makes perfect, I get the impression that we dont practice set pieces just make it up on the day
