This isn't a knee jerk reaction to today's game but the whole season. I just don't understand either the selections or tactics Redknapp employs, clearly has his favourites, BAE, Dunne to name but two, who he continually picks no matter how they are playing.

Today against 10 men he continued with four at the back (against one striker) and when he did bring on another striker he moved Morrison to wide left, rather than going 3-4-3 and pushing them back. I have been involved in football for 35 years and have seen some tactically inept managers but have to say Redknapp is right up there. I can honestly say I don't want us to get promoted simply because if we do scrape through the play offs Redknapp will stay to have another go at the prem. This will result in another load of aging over paid names joining such a Lampard and Fredinand, with Redknapps tactics simply being he believes he has better individual players than the opposition. Player for player we do in this division but more tactically astute managers make their team better than the individual parts where as Redknapp does the opposite.

So frustrated with how this season has turned out and to be honest think Frenandes and the board has to take some blame as surely even with the little football knowledge they have they can see others make better use of their resources.

100% correct. and what makes me laugh is there are still quite a few still saying its ok we're 3rd. people need to look at the bigger picture. the way we have been playing its as is we are way down bottom half.

The picture at present is we are third. That is a fact, whether you like it or not.

And another fact. We haven't been out of the play off positions the whole season.

Sixth to be precise. And we have not been lower than fourth all season and are not going to change that with five games to go no matter what the 'suicide squad' try to make people believe.

Unfortunately being in the play offs doesn't get you promoted and do you really believe that Redknapp will a)select the right side and then b)employ the correct tactics to get us through those three games. Certainly whilst you are quoting stats there is another that shows how badly we perform against other top six sides, so it doesn't bode well on that front either.

Do you really want another season of Redknapp because if we do scrape through he will stay for one more go in the prem and all this with the biggest playing budget in the division.

I'm not suggesting that HR is the answer, but there's too many knee jerk reactions as there always are after a loss. As fans, we need to be backing the team and backing the manager to the end and think about the next step when this season is over.

As for being in the play offs, it at least gives you a CHANCE of being promoted. The play offs are a bit of a lottery, but by being in them, we at least have a ticket.

We had an excellent first half of the season but last 20 games, we have got 28 points. Somethings not right in my view. I don't care what tony and others say, we need promotion this season for the money. I just can't see that based on our last 20 games, we've got any chance.

And one of only four people allowed to play it. Massive chance that.

Agree there is no point in sacking Redknapp now either financial or football wise, but the next appointment needs to be the right one. A good young manager who will build the infrastructure of the club alongside the new training ground and stadium. Let's get a style of play and recruit players to play within that style rather than just buying players by the barrel load on reputation and make sure all our sides from under 9 up to the first team know that style. That way we can integrate players and develop players much easier.

Yes play offs give us a chance but if we get promoted Redknapp stays and the same old fashioned outlook and style will continue into next year with another load of aging players arriving.

Let's worry about next season after this one is done.

The point you make about playing styles is right. At every level the teams should be playing exactly the same way. When I was coaching I got some Ajax coaching videos and that is what they do, so that when players progress, they know the system and fit in much easier.
