Don't play Carroll, BAE and, sadly, Dunne and we might have a chance...

A proper CM with the hype he has had when they lost there man would have thought to himself im stepping up to the plate and Im going to dictate the play and make the team tick. Get in the middle of the park pick the ball up and pick passes but he got worse after they went down.

He makes a token gesture when it comes to defending he tracks back like he's interested but he never puts a worthwhile challenge or block in and a little shimmy leaves him wrong footed

Im fizzing just thinking about him

Hey, he aint no Gascoigne nor even a Webb (overrated ******) but it aint his fault he gets picked and it aint his fault he is rated highly by HR.

Does F uck all week in week out but I have no doubt he will get the shirt again midweek. Plenty say he does not hide I wish he would as we might have half a change in the middle of the park
I agree With this. Today, he did cost us the midfield battle, IMO, given his decent basic tecnique, It does also baffle me that his interplay is so poor. On the Whole, he seems totally disinterested while on the pitch.

I agree with the original post. We started off well and totally outplayed them but could not get the first goal. What concerns me is that if we go behind we have no fight or belief. The way we played against 10 men was shocking. Rather than keep the ball having the extra man, Carroll was hitting long diagonal balls. There was no urgency. BAE does not care either way. Carroll does but he is not good enough going forward. Benayoun far better. Hate to say this but Dunne looks tired and very prone to making errors hence first goal.

looking at the big picture we are fortunate to be where we are. My concern for the play offs is if we go behind we lose, simple as that. I am not saying we can't win them as if Morrison has a good day he can win a match on his own. If we don't go up at least we won't get torn to shreds as we do not have a good enough system / team spirit. We would have to start from scratch again.

Funny how sheff weds murdered us as soon as we went down to ten men, and they are bottom half. Why cant we use a man down to our advantage with players like morrison and hoilett in the team?

Cause we have Carroll who has zero interest in attacking positive football and would rather play safe football which plays into the hands of the opposition especially when there a man down

For the record Jenas was appalling today as well the opposite of how he had been before his injury. We had no middle today

Fair point Mafia he is getting selected but once hes been selected surely he needs to offer something??? If his passing game is off (appears that's what he is in the team for) what about at least throwing yourself in front of the ball and putting your foot in an offering a presence on the pitch

Entirely agree. They have the technical ability to go past their man and get around the back of the defence. We gave possession away so easily it was worse than sunday football. Bournemouth actually had the better chances after we had 10 men because rather than play the early ball to feet we tried the Hollywood ball. Really basic stuff that all the players do know but what scares me is why they don't do it?

Carroll doesnt offer enough playing deep in the middle for me. He is too busy looking for the intricate defense unlocking pass to concentrate on the simple tasks and therefore loses possession too quickly, loses the ball too easily or gets totally out of position.

Personally think he is a waste of a shirt in the position Harry puts him in as he would be more effective and less of a liability in a role behind the striker.

Can't see him behind the striker, Mush, because he cannot carry the ball, cannot beat a player and has never fired off a shot.

Agree is not even close to having enough ability to play behind striker. Why people think he can is strange

Only because he's being touted by Spurs fans as an Iniesta with intricate passing. Can see the intent but never the execution myself.
