That's a bit ott. He'll just have to get a cab or a driver for a while. Not saying this wouldn't be a serious issue for you or I but footballers live in a different world. Someone's not going to refuse to buy him because he's not got a driving licence for a year..

I said he's not doing his value any favours. I didn't say he's value had gone down.

You would think after being cleared of the r4pe charges and the world cup coming up he would want to keep his head down.

"Remy’s defence solicitor, Jonathan Dunkley, asked for his client’s expected participation at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil to be considered when setting a trial date."

oh thats nice isnt it, he has allegidly broke the law and potentially lied in a court but the court is being asked to wait so as mr remy can go to brazil for a few weeks to play football.

shame the courts cant take into consideration ordinary joe public who have just as much responsabilities.

I'd have thought he'd want the case & any subsequent ban starting ASAP.

It's not like he'll need to drive for the month or 5 weeks he'll be with France or in Brazil is it.

How would not being able to drive for a year affect his value in any way?

Plenty of players do stupid things and this hasn't affected their value...

this is one of the reasons - quite apart from any possible sales clause - why fans were being fanciful when talking about 20m or even 35m for him. a really big club - who are the only ones who can pay that sort of money - wd be v reluctant to take on someone with his off-field reputation.

Once again ill say it... this isn't doing his value any favours.... NOT he's lost value by this one single incident.

What im saying is if he keeps doing things like this, then yes it will effect his value... No matter how good the player, is if he's got a reputation for stepping out of line/being a trouble maker his value will go down.
