  • Would You be Prepared If We Went Up Too

Basically not add to the squad at all and take our chances with the current squad and players that remain under contract so we can bank the £100mil and go some way to reducing the debt

Would probably result in us getting pumped week in week out but would reward those that got us there with prem football in addition to allowing youngsters to be played at the highest level.

Is a trade off one a season of doom but reducing the debt considerably acceptable???

westie yet another good thought provoking thread old bean....you are defo getting your seven to ten a day..........yes i see your point and i do honestly think we still have the basis of a decent starting eleven and subs even after casting off the driftwood.....there is no doubting the likes of harriman, hitchy, petrasso etc will have to given a better role next season ......i would love to get ravel on a season long loan and with a fit, hungry back up striker to charlie we could and should still mount a serious challenge!
      you know nothing john snow!!!!

Some of you need a holiday.

It would also need a new manager to start playing our youth players.
I'd rather this than watch past it players like Henry, Oneill, Jenas and Dunne get shown up wk in wk out.

Unfortunately our squad isn't good enough to do what you suggest west.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

We Are im accepting that in all likelihood we will get beat week in and week out with this approach but the question is would people acceptable that if it meant wiping out nearly 60% of the debt??

Alternatively we could put a squad together on the cheap with one eye on getting promoted the following season but given them a years prem experience in advance with intention they form the basis of the prem squad when they next go up

I would be prepared to do EXACTLY what the OP suggests but the club's current regime is incapable of exercising such financial prudence.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

Despite the excitement people seem to have for players they've never seen, I don't think our youth team is strong enough to cope with this anyway...

Was just about to say this, spurs and united youngsters aint good enough for the championship and get coated off every single day, but our kids are all considered as young lionels by the many managers on watrb.

No point in getting beat every week , getting relegated, and then increasing the debt again to get us back up, doesn't make sense.

The clubs debt outside of the Barclays loan, is to TF and the Mittals. Once the new all purpose stadium is built and it's hosting concerts, ATP tennis, ice hockey etc etc along with QPR they will get their money back and some, so the current debt situation isn't a worry
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

Can't build the team around the youngsters but you can use them as back up when we get injuries instead of getting loan players/short term signings.

Interesting idea......but our current squad wouldn't just get beaten every week..........they would be totally and utterly ****ing humiliated..

Not sure I fancy one of those seasons.
